Umm, does this count for free agent chat from twitter?

Confirmation Bryan Colangelo has lost his mind - $34 million for six years for Amir Johnson. As Swirsky used to say: Are you kidding me?

Now whats up with the FA's... I have really reached a low here fellas lol sorry.

Seems like it's cooled off for the evening. Bob McKenzie logged off of Twitter, so I'm guessing that might be it for now.

I have a suspicion that Kovy may end up in the KHL. I bet he's demanding fat cash, especially after some of the ridiculous deals that went down today. Boogy's contract makes Kovy worth 25 a year

Dan Ellis in Tampa could be a good move for them. Terribly inconsistent goaltending plagued them last year, and if Ellis is able to re-capture his 2008 playoff form, the Bolts could be a surprise team next season.

On the other hand, Nittymaki in San Jose? LOL

Holy s*** hahaha

I don't follow the NBA much but I remember that dude. TSN is reporting 34 over 5 years, not 6. that makes it worse haha. You want to talk about a league not being in touch with reality? Darko got 20 mil over 4 years today. That'd be like giving Boogard 1.6 mil a year. Oh wait..

Yeah I hope for the best for Stevie in Tampa, but the San Jose thing is really puzzling. Huge mistake in not making it a priority to re-sign Nabakov, imo. He is a rare breed of goalie in the NHL.

Paul, is that you?

No, I'm just your typical Romanian pervert. I would never pretend to be Paul Kariya...because lets face it, Asians have small penises!!! ;)

Like I said before a "past his prime" Paul Kariya is still better than half the free agents out there today.

I mean honestly, who right now is looking for a starting goaltender that has the cap space to give Nabby what he wants? Same goes for Turdco I guess.

The way NBA teams are ran by GM's in these times is an absolute joke. Just look at the Knicks and their terrible contracts and past fiascos. Or even last year when we (Pistons) overpaid for 2 bench players, making starter money. And now I'm hearing players like Joe Johnson offered max contracts. I just want to pull my hair out.

Turco's just destined to be one of the many formerly-prominent starting goaltenders who either finds himself as a "veteran backup", a starter on a team going nowhere or flat-out out of a job. Nabokov will land on his feet somewhere, but he sure won't get the money he's asking for, especially when the trend these days is success with cheap goaltending.

Not for long. Far easier to remove the original thread, and sort through it and move the on-topic posts back. That way we're not trying to put out fires left and right while new fires keep popping up.

The original posts will be merged back soon.

Yes, again my troll feedery hopefully.

Pssh Hawks "fans"

Some very strange signings today. Pittsburgh spends $9M on defense, yet their best winger is Kunitz with his 32 points. I know Crosby and Malkin are good, but they're certainly not Lemieux-esque (capable of making 50 goal scorers out of average players). I would've thought they'd sign a defenseman to replace Gonchar as well as a decent winger (Frolov, Kariya, Whitney) capable of generating at least SOME offense.

Also, Yzerman had a very strong day. He got rid of a pretty bad contract, resigned a franchise centerpiece, picked up a good goalie at a terrific price, and still has $25M in cap space.

Worst signing of the day has to be Boogaard. $1.6M for four years for a player who hasn't scored a goal since the 2005-2006 season, averages just over 5 minutes a night, and has yet to play a full NHL season. Oh, and he only has 18 fighting majors in the last two years. Ouch!
