Blackhawks doing their best to embrace change

I know that the situations are a bit different and the Hawks had to make room because of the cap......but this reminds me of the way Jerry Krauss and Jerry Reinsdorf basically destroyed the Bulls after their last championship by literally letting everyone walk. They could have won at least one more.

Krause was a stubborn *******. It's funny how someone like him can drive out coaches like Phil Jackson and Tex Winter (leading to Jordan's retirement) even after winning 6 titles, letting everyone else walk to start rebuilding, f*** up the process by trading their young assets for busts (Eddy Curry anyone?) and then completely bail on the organization and leave them in a mess.

Did I just see Kopecky projected on a 2nd line???

I projected Kopecky on the second line (Kopecky/Sharp/Hossa) while Versteeg and Ladd were still Hawks, you haven't been paying attention. With Versteeg and Ladd gone, we may even see him end up on the first line, as he was for the finals (Kopecky/Toews/Hossa) as that line had some solid chemistry.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that this year.

Sorry, but you don't just 'plug' holes that Versteeg, Ladd and Buff left with just anybody. Just because there are new bodies in place doesn't mean it's a push to who they replaced. If they can ship Campbell... maybe I will consider them dangerous again and that depends on who they pick up. Head to head, as the rosters stand with plugs for Chicago in place, the Wings hand them their lunch. If Chicago has two significant injuries during the season, they will be chasing the pack like we were last season. Except I don't think they will have the chemistry to pull it out like we did. Nor the goaltending.

I'd be pretty nervous if I were a s***hawks fan.

Except for Hossa, this was pretty much the same line-up that they had in '08 when they got rolled in the playoffs by the Wings. So what's teh difference? This year they added Hossa who was a playoff no show and they added John Madden. Chemistry made the difference and that's now gone.

I expect that they will go back to being a good team but not an elite team.

The best teams in the west will be Vancouver, Chicago and Detroit. San Jose took a big step back losing Rob Blake and Nabaokov.
