It's not that we don't believe you, as things leak like this all the time. But like anything else in the world we have to take it with a grain of salt until we find some solid proof.
Check out my short e-book on the Red Wings' 1937 Stanley Cup championship entitled: "Nothing Could Keep 'Em Down." Please download it from my profile at Smashwords: https://www.smashwor...ile/view/victor

New e-book: The Spanish-American War: A Brief History. Relatively short, introductory read for casual history buffs and people who want to learn more about a forgotten war that changed America. Available at BN.com, Smashwords, Kobo, and Diesel E-Books right now. Same link as above.

They're supposed to be talking to Holland on The Final Score here now that the Tigers game is over. Hopefully we will know for sure then....

Proof man, proof. Not saying that you're a liar, but you need to provide proof of this through pictures or something of that nature for people to officially believe what you say.

Well I guess if he works at Comerica, then he might have some credibility.

As much as I want this rumor to be true...

... that's all it is... a rumor. I hope in the next few days it becomes official though.

This is far from official. A 2 year deal is on the table and Modano is likely going to choose the WIngs IF he decides not to retire.

I hope it's not two years. We have too many centers as it is, and there are players in the AHL who need to move up next season (Mursak, Tatar, I. Flip maybe).

I really, really dislike the two-year deal if that part is true.

I don't understand what the point of adding a second year is if Modano is already contemplating retirement THIS summer. I am not going to call it a bad move as it is premature still, but two years would be a mistake.

his parents would like him to join the Red Wings

I wonder if that helps at all, who knows, maybe he'll end up living back at home with them for a bit should he sign :P

Agreed. One year is plenty; you reevaluate the situation after that year.

Rumor mill this garbage.

If you start a new thread within two hours after a Wings game, specifically a loss, YOU ARE WRONG.

Two years allows a lower cap hit... Espically if he is going to retire after one year! :)

What kind of color is red? Red is a warning, a declaration, a color that says I'm ready to do what it takes. Red is focused and driven because red doesn't like second place. So what kind of color is red? Their kind.

If he plays for something at or below 1 mil I can see the two years being possible. Holland could look at it as just spreading the cost out over two years with the possibility of him staying the second year and making it a bargain.

I'm not saying I'm happy with it, just throwing a possibility out there.

He's over 35 so it would still count regardless of his potential retirement.

I saw Willa Ford on "The View" today talking about how much she'd love to live in Detroit.

To help her modeling and acting career and all.
According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.
