Travis 576 Report post Posted July 14, 2010 I was told that there was a VHS tape called "The Bruise Brothers" made back in the day. Does anyone here have that? There is a book - perhaps there's a VHS, too.
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted July 14, 2010 Here's another one. Just awesome. Joey looks like 12 there. Tough to deal with this still.... Will always love ya Probie
newfy 695 Report post Posted July 14, 2010 Here's another one. Its hard to beleive a guy that looks that young(Kocur) had teh hardest and most devastating right hand in the history of hockey. I still can't believe Detroit had both of these guys on their team at the same time. Unreal how tough the wings of the past were.
S.H.M.B. 25 Report post Posted July 14, 2010 I was told that there was a VHS tape called "The Bruise Brothers" made back in the day. Does anyone here have that? There is/was, and I own it. It's not by any means a professional or official release. There is some fantastic stuff on it, including Probert vs Jim Kyte, where Probert hit Kyte so hard, he knocked his hearing aids out. There's a DVD on craigslist, but I'd be willing to bet it's simply a dub of a VHS The Bruise Brothers DVD
LeftWinger 4,961 Report post Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) I was told that there was a VHS tape called "The Bruise Brothers" made back in the day. Does anyone here have that? Abso-freakin-lutely there are! Volume 1 and 2, I have both of them and as described above they look pretty much homemade, but man! They cover fights from Adirondack ( I remember the annoucer calling them Pro-Bear (like his name was french) and Ko-Kur.) all the way up to Proberts final fights in Detroit including the Domi "champioship belt" fights and the Troy Crowder saga! I remember when Crowder tagged Probie and pretty much beat everyone up in the NHL until he met a kid named Darin Kimble in Quebec, Kimble beat the crap out of Crowder, sensing that he may be what they need to counter Probert, St. Louis traded for Kimble, giving up Herb Raglan, Tony Twist and Andy Rymsha. Well his first game against Detroit, sure enough he was sent out there to "Counter" Probie, since Probie had gotten whooped by Crowder and Crowder got whooped by Kimble, St. Louis was rubbing their hands together in anticipation, well, Probert beat this guy so bad he finally switched to the left and looked over at the ref like are you gonna step in and stop this carnage, before I kill him? LeftWinger 4,961 Report post Posted July 15, 2010 Not Kocur of course, but a good one. Special Olympics? Domi always looks Cro-Magnon. Hey is that Captain Lou in the background playing with his rubber bands?
NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted July 15, 2010 I bought a home-made DVD off of ebay that had a large amount of Probert and Kocur fights on it. Lost it, unfortunately...
