T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Kovalchuk's agent Jay Grossman tweeted: "Ilya Kovalchuk will make his decision today (for sure, this time!)." Now the rest of the dominoes can fall.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I'm hoping he goes to the kings for 8 or under. Not an overpayment and it'll make Kings games more fun to watch.
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Yeah I'm glad he will (most likely) be going to a team that I really like, the Kings of course.

Hank Dats 'N Homer 81 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Will there be exclusive primetime coverage of the decision on ESPN? No no, that would only be if he was going to the penguins or another cup contending team that would win the cup for him instead of him going to a team and making them a cup contender with his own skills. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 It's official. Devils' official Twitter says so. Well, guess he valued less travel in the East over a better chance to win a Cup with a young team like Los Angeles. Devils aren't winning anything any time soon. NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I didn't see him ending up there. Good for NJ....and it keeps him out of the West. Confirmed: Kovalchuk stays with New Jersey

stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 wow... I really thought he was going to end up in LA - this really bodes well for NJ, otherwise that trade could have REALLY been a disaster with what the would have essentially given up for nothing... with that said, if NJ really hopes to get the best out of him, they're going to have to adjust their style a little bit... Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Never would have expected him to re-sign there, thought he was a pure rental.
puffy 97 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I'm just glad this whole thing is over. Hopefully the floodgates open now and we see a few more trades.
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I'm just glad this whole thing is over. Hopefully the floodgates open now and we see a few more trades. My thoughts exactly. You gotta think Gagne to LA is a safe bet now, and I think Burke is still on vacation but I'd expect a Kaberle trade shortly after his return.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) Gagne to Kings.. Savard to Leafs, Kaberle to Ducks and uhmmmm Prospect+pick's to Bruins My 'wild' guesses Edited July 19, 2010 by mindfly

Glubki 17 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I wonder if it is the $60M over 7 year deal? So who is NJ getting rid of? Ya - should be interesting. Jersey only had about about 4.2M in cap space left...

Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Ya - should be interesting. Jersey only had about about 4.2M in cap space left...
