When you think about it, this shouldn't surprise anyone. Arenas and stadiums never come off to me as the cleanest and most responsible places. I already had my reason not to eat ridiculously overpriced stadium/arena food.

yeah but if you look at the charts and compare to 100 other stadiums that had little to no bad write ups than it just makes the detroit arenas that much more worse.

I just read that article a little while ago. I caught the entire Tigers/Rays series down in Tampa last year and the first thing the guy sitting next to me at the first game said was "don't buy any food from the vendors" and this article confirmed his warning.

We never eat anything inside sporting venues because of the ridiculous prices. So not only do you pay $10 for a 6 inch dry pizza but you get chemicals or food poisoning with it - so pathetic. Pack a lunch or eat at a reputable restaurant....

Ah, read that one wrong. Ice makes more sense because I was thinking "How the crap do you scoop ice cream with your bare hands and not get caught?" At least with ice the customer's vision of their drink is blocked a bit by the machine.

Going to go out on a limb and say that is probably not a whole lot better.

For the price of a couple pizzas and beer at the game, you can enjoy a delicious meal for 2 at any restaurant in Greektown, or go to one of the casino joints. Most downtown restaurants have buses that will pick you up for free after a game.

After watching some of the stadium food specials on travel channel and food network, Detroit stadiums have really lame food offerings anyway compared to other cities. I'd probably pay the premium for some delicious, unique stadium food (provided it was clean, of course!)
