The Calgary Flames are proud to announce that they will wear a fusion design jersey honouring the history of professional hockey in Calgary (inspired by the Calgary Tigers’ uniform) for the Heritage Classic at McMahon Stadium on February 20, 2011 versus the Montreal Canadiens.

That's hideous. Please tell me that's a joke.

I only wish they were... :puke:

Makes you wonder whether they truly don't recognize the hideousness or truly don't care.

Consider that this is the same franchise that thought the "Snot Horse" was a good idea, and I think you'll find your answer...

Why couldn't those idiots just wear the same jerseys they did in the 80's.

They wore those jerseys a lot last year and it looked great. Why the urge to do something idiotic when a special event comes up?

That being said, they should play against the Canucks, who should bust out the Flying-V.

I think they're trying to ensure a win by inducing seizures on the ice with those. It's the only explanation I can think of.

Bada Ba Ba Ba... I'm hating it. Seriously, who let that happen?

Quick, someone who knows how to use photoshop put Ronald McDonald's head on that bad boy.

Where's Mike Commodore when you need him?

if you buy the jersey and wear it to the game you get a free big mac and large fries. this heritage classic is going to be largely uneventful. calgary and montreal will both suck pretty hard this year. i wish it was toronto vs. ottawa or something like that. make the game interesting. not calgary, who is evidently rebuilding BIGTIME! i'll be playing NHL 11 while this s*** and the pens are playing on new years. f***, i used to like the flames before sutter destroyed their roster over the past couple seasons. i mean, sign bouwmeester and not cammalleri...the guy got you 42 goals and iggy finally had someone legit to play with.

Even funnier for me watching? What in the good lords name was Steve Staois doing there talking for calgary?!?! He's a bum! He should be a buyout candidate, not the face of the Heritage classic. God I love how terrible Calgarys gotten :D

The throwback thing is now officially out of hand. I know they're supposed to hearken back to some Calgary team from the '20s but that's dumb. The Flames never wore those.

What, no clown-shoe skates?

I can understand the whole 'honoring history' angle, being the Heritage Classic and all, but do they really believe anyone wants to be reminded of anything like that?
