Carman 387 Report post Posted August 7, 2010 I've always loved how Forsberg played the game. It's a shame a foot held him back so much. He's 3 years younger then Lidstrom, he can definitely still contribute at a high level. Don't get the hate... 1 dat's sick reacted to this

Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted August 7, 2010 I'd never buy a ticket on the single prospect of seeing him play. You talk about the guy like he's a legend. You seem to think hes not. Get your avs hatred blinders off, for a large point in his career he was the most dominant forward in the NHL.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted August 7, 2010 For the 10 (sorry, 13) seasons he played, he was a force. To me, 13 years in the NHL isn't a full career.

While it's not a full career, your point that he isn't a "legend" or "great" is wrong (and shouldn't be based on length of play in this situation anyway). He was considered the best. He was great. I love the 2008 Playoffs though when we sweep the AVS and Floppa got beat the F#$# down!!

SweWings 45 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 No one hates Joe Sakic, no one should hate Forsberg either. He's Canadian. I'm guessing that gets him some love from the Canadians on the board. Same reason why I don't dislike Forsberg.
GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) No one hates Joe Sakic, no one should hate Forsberg either. Joe Sakic was a class act, and not a diving little ***** ***** who likes to draw too much attention to himself, and not back up his actions. And I'm not a Canadian on this board. Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 No one hates Joe Sakic, no one should hate Forsberg either. No one hates Joe Sakic because he's a decent guy. He was the only decent thing about those Avs teams. The rest of the team were a bunch of douchebags. Patrick Roy? Forsberg? Claude Lemieux? Mike Ricci? Douches, every last one of them. Spongewingredpants 75 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 I just read an article on TFP that said Peter Forsberg could make an attempt at another NHL comeback. Well the Avs really have no available roster spots, but the article sites Washington among team that could target him, if he indeed makes a comeback. Discuss. Make it happen Kenny
NomadFromKazoo 42 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 He's Canadian. I'm guessing that gets him some love from the Canadians on the board. Same reason why I don't dislike Forsberg. I understand that. Same reason a lot of us Michigan natives don't hate Madono. Though Foresburg while not doing anything to make me hold anything against him was an annoying player even if he wasn't a dirty one so I don't personally like him as a player. But I get how a Wings fan a decade removed from the heat of the rivalry not from Sweden could respect him and say so. But what I don't get is how anyone (and you are not doing this) could come on a Wings board and argue we can't rag on the best player on our long time most bitter rival who were a dirty team or we "hate" him. They have the right to do that, but it's pretty moronic.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 Who "hates" him? You got a point, I don't remember him diving... So this deteriorates into character assassination. Great. Well I'm outta this thread.
thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 But you're a Canadian elsewhere? And you're never going to be able to convince me of him being a "diving little ***** *****." Jerkwater is located in the US. And you'll never be able to convince a lot of us that while Forsberg was an immense talent, he was a diver. I wouldn't call him little, as he;s bigger than me, and I wouldn't call him a ***** or a ***** because he could whup my ass… but he did play one on TV.
