While watching Game 5 of the '02 finals, it's amazing the number of future hall of famers were on this team. Shanny, Fedorov, Yzerman, Datsyuk, Hull, Robitallie, Larionov, Holmstrom, Lidstrom, Chelios, Hasek.

But what about Homer? His numbers seem a little low, but he's certainly a unique player and the best at what he does. Add in has name on four Cups, three where he was a part of the playoff team.

Thoughts?

I'm just going to pray this is a parody thread.

Seriously...Please tell me you're just joking. My faith in humanity is depending on it.

Not even close, if there was a role players hall of fame he'd be a lock, but, other than his niche as a screener/deflector/PP specialist he really has nothing hall of fame worthy. I love homer as a player, but lets be realistic, hes just not in the tier of players who get in, hell hes not even in the tier next to that.

Maybe he can get in for being part of most disallowed goals in NHL history???

Thats a foot note, now most opponents sticks broken on you in a single NHL career may put him over the top.

He's made a great career for himself having fairly limited skills. So he worked really hard and developed an incredibly specific skill set. Redirecting the puck while keeping your ass in the goalies face and getting hacked at by a defenseman.

He's been a great Wing, but not a HOF'er.

I'm saddened that there are actually 5 people in existence on this site that have voted "yes" or "too close to call"

edit: oh geez, 6 now.

As a joke I was thinking of voting yes, but my better judgment told me, "no don't"

While the answer is No, he is the absolute best at what he does, and has been the best for most of his career in the N.H.L. But we don't see anyone getting in because they were the best fighter, or for being the fastest skater year after year.

Too many people here have no clue what the Hall of Fame usually allows in or out.

So, who are the 8 nut jobs who voted yes? I love Homer, but he isnt close to HOF status. Crosby and Ovechkin have more points then him in just 5 seasons... as much as I hate using those assclowns to make a point.

Im guessing it was a joke...kind like this thread
