The boredom is becoming apparent with this topic and continued discussion about Asham.

How many more day until the puck drops?

Anyone download the NHL '11 demo yet?

Just kidding, I'm also bored as is everyone.

Anyone know why the Red Wing is there in the first place?

Before the Friday show, Paul McCartney did an on-air interview with a local Detroit classic rock and roll station, WCSX while traveling to the sound check at the Palace. He talked about the Detroit Red Wings sticker on his Epiphone acoustic guitar. He said he was given the sticker by a fan at the Olympia stadium (the former home of the Detroit Red Wings) on the 1976 Wings Tour.

Not really. It's just what some stars do that makes them think they'll play better if they have that "new guitar feel" depending on their need. It's kind of like how Allen Iverson would change into a new pair of shoes every quarter or something like that.

No no no. Not when it comes to guitars and other musical instruments. You have that one "baby" and you stick with it. And no musician has that many identical guitars.

Epiphone actually markets a Paul McCartney Signature Texan guitar that's identical to his original minus the Red Wings sticker. I have a feeling those guitars are part of a promotional run of the series. They've even got the identical wear and tear on all them.

edit: and no musician has what appears to a bus devoted to carrying one type of instrument.

I never knew he had a Wings sticker on one of his guitars. That's pretty neat.

Looks like a nice gesture since he was in Pittsburgh. Some singers (Shania Twain, Taylor Swift, etc.) wear the jerseys of the hometown team while performing.

dont forget anthrax and megadeth

Brett Hull would also wear 4 pairs of gloves a night - one for the warmup and a different pair for each period.

On the Tripping the Live Fantastic tour he wore a Detroit Lions jersey - don't know if it was just when he played in Detroit or not. People who have more time than me may feel free to search for photographic proof :)

beatles suck anyways, that frickin traitor. Even if he was pressured into it he should have said no, he's a knight he does what he wants.

There aren't enough minuses possible on this board for this post.

And for those who may be too young to know, McCartney had a band after The Beatles called Wings.

Listen to what the man said, Paul.

Hmm, maybe Paul hasn't escaped the Blue Meanies just yet.

"Take a look lads, Crosby just dove again."

Good stuff, except of course for the fact that I just saw Crosby's ugly mug twice :hehe:

For those who don't know, this is a guitar that Paul has had forever, since the Beatles, a 1964 Epiphone Texan. Epiphone is (or was) making replicas of this guitar and I am certain that he stuck this sticker on one of those replica guitars. NOT on THE guitar. You can see in the picture they ALL have the Wings sticker properly displayed.

Either way, it is a totally lame move. Just go out play your songs and if you are that worried about offending someone in Pittsburgh, then they are softer than ever imagined.
