Thought I'd post this as several people have shown consern with several other simular contracts under investigation in the league.

Daly said there was never formal investigation into the contracts for Detroit Red Wings players with long-term contracts that may have circumvented the salary cap.

As I keep pointing out the key difference is that the wings players with long term contracts will likely play out most of it, if not all of it, where as the other teams who signed players to life time contracts tact on years at the end that no one who doesn't have a Thorazine drip could plainly see the players won't play.

Other teams would be well advised to try to pattern their franchise operations after the model created, and adhered to, in Detroit.
