Also gave Abdelkader some props and talked about Modano being home where the family can watch with a team of greater overall skill.

What I got out of it.

-Osgood is good to go. Knows his role and is willing to fight for the starting spot. Best possible scenario.

-Modano will flourish in front of Detroit's D. Redmond predicts 20 goals easily.

-Mickey likes the fact that skilled players can play without "dragging a horse and wagon behind them" but knocks the inconsistency of penalty calls... of course.

-Abby will play a 4th line role and is well liked in the dressing room.

-Mickey's cell phone sucks.

Talked about the following:

Roster, and how we will have to move someone before the start of the season, but didn't say who he thought gets moved

Modano, how he fits into our offensive scheme, expects him to score 20 goals this season if he stays healthy

Osgood, how he has never gotten any respect but has had a "really, really, really good career for us"

Abdelkader, his signing and his role in the lineup

Other than that, it was mostly chit-chat about the UP, western Michigan, and events he is participating in in the area.

Would love to see Mo come here and score 20+ goals. On that line with Huds feeding the pill and Clears knocking people on their ass again and fighting hard for the puck...could happen. If Ozzie returns to form that could very well end up being the key to give Jimmy his needed rest toward the end of the year and hopefully coast into the playoffs instead of playing meaningful games at the end of March and beginning of April. bingo bango
