jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted December 4, 2015 That was the most lions way of losing that I've ever seen. That was a bs facemask call though.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted December 13, 2015 Jim Caldwell is the only person on Earth who wasn't expecting a Hail Mary pass. Even Mary wasn't expecting it. Otherwise she'd have said, "Oh, it's Rodgers. Incomplete. Go Lions."
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted December 13, 2015 I guess we can add "bad snap" to the list of ways the Lions can break our hearts.

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted December 29, 2015 Well, with the win over SF, Caldwell is likely coming back. Great.
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted December 30, 2015 We're playing ourselves out of a top 10 pick.. And I'm probably in the minority, but I want Caldwell to stick around... There's something to gain from stability, which I think we need. Even if we clear the rest of the front office out and rebuild again,
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 1, 2016 I'm cool with Caldwell staying. I don't think he was a problem. Everyone needs to be on the same page and we need to quit this merry-go-round of having one part of the team come together and another fall apart.
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted January 2, 2016 Agreed. Either our defense is amazing and our offense only puts up ~14 points, or our defense is awful and our offense miraculously remembers they can be amazing. If he falls to us wherever we end up drafting this year, I do think we should draft Jared Goff. That way he can sit and learn for a year or two while we figure out if Stafford can win games when they matter, and if not then we'll have a developed ready to go starter for when we trade Stafford. Unless Joey Bossa is still on the board, in which case we'd be dumb not to pick him. Or if they're both gone, nkemdiche, or oakman would be good consolation prizes too. But Oakman could potentially fall to the 2nd round, which would be amazeballs if we could snag two of those.

DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Johnson may retire due to all the lingering injuries he's had. Bad news is, they lose an all world WR. Good news is they'd gain $24 mil in cap space.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Geez, to have both Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson retire early and only one playoff win between the two of them....
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted January 8, 2016 Its looking like the lions will hire the patriots old director of scouting for the gm spot. Seems like a smart move, lets hope Megatron comes back for at least one year(after renegotiating his contract)
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 9, 2016 I read that Calvin kept the ball from his last TD. I may be reading too much into it, but that doesn't sound promising for his return. 1 kickazz reacted to this

jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted January 17, 2016 I'm fine with keeping caldwell, it's not like therea a coach out there who would be a slam dunk type hire.
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) I read that Calvin kept the ball from his last TD. I may be reading too much into it, but that doesn't sound promising for his return. I think he has the same agent as Brett Farve. Farve "retired" a bunch of times too. Speculation is that Calvin may be doing this to get higher pay. I don't know if I believe that but supposedly the fact that the agent is same as Farve.. Idk. Edited January 19, 2016 by kickazz
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted January 20, 2016 If he's trying to get more than he already has, he's going to be disappointed... He's already one if, if not the highest paid non qb.
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) If he's trying to get more than he already has, he's going to be disappointed... He's already one if, if not the highest paid non qb. Yeah. They were saying on sports center that he may be in that phase where he's looking at Detroit and saying "Is there something more you can do to keep me?" "Is it worth it?" Suposedly Farve went thru similar post season situation that Calvin is going thru. But Calvin's not that type of guy so I don't know. Then again an agent can change a guy. His agent was same guy who represented Randy Moss, Cam Newton, Steve Mcnair. One of the best in the business. Edited January 20, 2016 by kickazz
jimmyemeryhunter 2,747 Report post Posted January 30, 2016 So the Lions new Gm and assistant gm are both from the Patriots front office, here's to hoping we get some of the success they've had in the last decade and a half.
