Wow. I've always liked Backus. One of my old faves. I guess all things must end, but I wish some of those guys who've stuck it out through the years could have had some measure of success before they left beyond a single playoff game.

My money on the board pledge:
$1 for each goal scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $5 for each hat trick scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $10 if any of the above goals is the GWG goal that gives us the series win.
An additional $50 if it is the GWG that wins us the Cup.
$5 for a SO by Jimmy.

Jason Hanson retires. I was a big fan of Murray, so it took me a long time to warm up to this kid, but I sure did.
I just wish that he'd have told the team that he wanted one more year, and that they'd have all pulled together to "win it for Jason" and maybe gotten to the second round of the playoffs before being ousted. You know, just to give him a big send-off.
