Modano's first skate with Wings

He's looking good in the Winged Wheel.

Man it still looks weird not seeing him wearing the Star (or the Ovaries). Not that I mind him being here or anything.

I wonder how fast he would be if he ever upgraded from those old school CCM tacks. I remember when Shanny finally upgraded he gained a step.

He needs to get a red helmet, but he's got that oldschool ccm helmet that might be hard to get a hold of these days (and also oldschool ccm skates)

Nick also wears the CCM model.

He swears by his CCM 652 super tacks.

For whatever reason, the story on the Red Wings website included pictures when I first posted, but now doesn't. Strange, but hopefully the link to Facebook works.

Weirder than Hell to see Modano in a Wings jersey, but I can't say I don't like it. Hope he has a stellar year, and the Stars cry in their beers for letting him go -- right to us! :P

The Stars management does not share that sentiment, apparently.

Do our jerseys look different? :P

Is it that time of year already? Why, yes! It is!

Pre-season is just around the corner!

He really looks at home in that Wheel, even though it's new to him professionally.

Money on the board!  Current total: $7

$1 for each goal scored by a current Wing after whom I've named a hamster.  +$5 if one scores a hat trick.

+$1 if a GWG.  +$5 if it is a GWG in a series-winning game.+$50 if it is the GWG that wins us the Cup.

$5 for each time a goalie after whom I've named a hamster prevents all opposing shots from going in the net.

The hamsters names are as follows (current Wings in red)

Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik

Niklas Matthieu Daniel Robert

Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan

Andrew (Drew) Patrick Ian Todd

Jordin Damien Gustav James
