WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted September 15, 2010 Tatar was clutch. Callahan and Cody Beach also fought about a min into the game. Can anyone in attendance give us a recap? 1 T.Low reacted to this

NotTooAbby 71 Report post Posted September 15, 2010 POWERPLAYS - Detroit 0 for 11 : St. Louis 0 for 7 that is just woeful.....good job on the PK, but 0 for 11 kinda stands out

Who the hell gives up 11 power plays! And the who the hell can't score once on 11 power plays! WTF? I would like to think that indicates the Wings were just skating away from StL and the only thing they could do was hook and grab. Any truth to that? Heard it was a draw - impressive considering Beach is 7 inches taller than Callahan.

If 2 much fighting, rules will be adjusted. Teams want 2 C prospects PLAY. about 9 hours ago via TweetDeck

While the rookie tournaments are great places for players to show there skill, there are still some players who will only make the NHL as enforcers who attend. While 5+ fights a game would be overkill, I don't see why the rules should be adjusted if there were a few a game. The games I've been able to watch through mapleleafs.com have been very physical, but maybe the Traverse City one has been played differently.

I'm listenning to the Canucks' Prospects game and they've had 4 fights so far, the 4rth happenning at the 0:00 mark of the 2nd period (right before the drop of the puck for the 2nd period). I guess it's Kenny's tournament, so he'll have it the way he wants it.

Nev 1,085 Report post Posted September 16, 2010 Maybe the danger with fighting at a prospects tournament is that the kids over-rate how management will see it if they drop the gloves? "I know, if I get in a fight, the GM will see how tough I am, then I'm bound to get a roster spot!" Whereas the GM is more interested in seeing if the kid can skate, pass and shoot at an NHL level.
