savaking72 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2010 Hey guys, Just curious if all of the Pre-Season games are going to be televised in some way? If so, on what station? On Sept 24th the Wings are playing the Hawks on Comcast Chicago. I don't get FSD. If you live in this market you can see this game.

MulesWillFly93 199 Report post Posted September 17, 2010 On NHL.com, it says that the Wings/Hawks game on the 25th is going to be on WGN. Now, I am an idiot and have no idea how this works - is the national WGN station the same as the local one? I mean, I've seen White Sox/Cubs games on the national channel while flipping through, so you'd think that would mean hockey would be on there, too. I guess I'll be able to tell you on Sunday (you can see a week's worth of programming on the on-screen guide, so I'll be able to look at next Saturday's stuff then). Branton87 77 Report post Posted September 17, 2010 Wait wait wait... First game in the Penguins new arena isn't going to be televised? You mean the NHL hates the Red Wings so much that it cancels out their love for Crosby? Hahaha! Just kidding...but seriously. 1 Cheveldae32 reacted to this
taxijim 11 Report post Posted September 17, 2010 I am looking at WGN for 9/25 (in the Detroit area) and it's not listed. It is listed up here in Canada in HD on WGN on Shaw cable....am really getting pumped!!
MulesWillFly93 199 Report post Posted September 18, 2010 (edited) I am looking at WGN for 9/25 (in the Detroit area) and it's not listed. It is listed up here in Canada in HD on WGN on Shaw cable....am really getting pumped!! Just looked it up - Canada will get it because most Canadian cable systems get the Chicago-area feed with the CW network programming, but nobody in the U.S. (except for the Chicago area) will get it because we have the national station that doesn't include CW programming or any of their local stuff. Sucks to be us. Don't know why we still get their stupid baseball games if that's the case, but whatever. EDIT 9/20: There is now some confusion (mostly in my brain) about whether the Wings/Rangers game on the 26th will be televised on the NHL Network. The listings on the Internet and my TV say it will, but NHLN's online schedule that came out today says it won't (however, four other games will, so score!). Guest Stolberg Report post Posted September 18, 2010 ...However, I did just find out that the Wings/Rangers game on Sunday the 26th will be broadcast live on the NHL Network, but none of the rest of them will. Doesn't that just figure? We're playing the Pens, Hawks, and Rangers, and which one do they pick out for our viewing pleasure? The friggin' Rangers. looks like a pretty obvious ratings choice to me

NHL Network will be broadcasting the following games: Fri, 9/24 Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings 7:00 PM ET LIVE Sat, 9/25 Detroit Red Wings vs. Chicago Blackhawks 8:00 PM ET LIVE Fri, 10/1 Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Detroit Red Wings 1:00 AM ET (not live) Sat, 10/2 Detroit Red Wings vs. Toronto Maple Leafs 7:00 PM ET LIVE Don't know what happened to the Wings/Rangers game that was supposed to be on this Sunday, but I like this plan better!
