Owen's impressed me last night- Obviously, the brass want to see a bit more of him tonight!

DETROIT -- Here is the Detroit Red Wings lineup -- line combinations, defense pairings and goaltenders -- for Saturday's preseason game in Chicago (8 p.m., NHL Network):

Jordan Owens-Valtteri Filppula-Todd Bertuzzi

Drew Miller-Justin Abdelkader-Francis Pare

Jamie Tardif-Cory Emmerton-Jan Mursak

Tomas Tatar-Joakim Andersson-Aaron Downey

Brad Stuart-Jonathan Ericsson

Doug Janik-Brendan Smith

Jakub Kindl-Logan Pyett

Chris Osgood

Thomas McCollum

Lots of Young bucks getting a chance to show off their skill! It will be interesting to see them play as Chicago will have their big boys in tonight.

booo i wanna see the real wings! love the kids getting a chance but lets embarrass the blackhawks, sooo excited for this season the year of FILPPULA.... 51=91???... maybe? I missed the fedorov era.... I'm so excited to see #51 I have always noticed so much skill in his play and it seems like these forums are dissapointed in him he has such a quick release and watching him hold on to the puck in the offensive zone reminds me of datsyuk and suuuch a good hardworking fore checker... I can't say enough about filppula... and also cleary... I think cleary and filppula will be the big difference between this season and last season, hudlers a nice addition but he wont steal any games and I think modano will be the quiet anchor, he won't do anything breathtaking but those lines have the ability to carry the play throughout the entire game and that is DETROIT RED WING HOCKEY BABY!! so excited!!!

Come on Owens, show them what you can do! Also, I think there is a pretty good chance we will see a few fights tonight. Owens, Bert, Abdelkader, Tardif, Downey, Ericsson, and Janik are always willing to drop the gloves. Chicago is playing most of their starters, bruise them up while you can!

I love Flip too! I am actually excited to see him play tonight without the "big boys". He had a great camp and I agree...he is definately coming into his own.

I imagine we will see lots of physical play tonight

I'm honestly a bit disappointed that Ritola isn't in the line-up. I've been patiently waiting to see him, but whenever the game is televised, he's not playing. I listened to the game on the radio against the Pens the other night and it sounded like he was one of the best forwards for the Wings.

Downey has no business in the line up. No idea why they are wasting valuable preseason games on him. Let the future play, not the past.

Hope Babcock changes the lines to this:

Ritola-V.Filppula-Bertuzzi

Drew Miller-Abdelkader-Pare

Tatar-Emmerton-Mursak

Tardif-Andersson-Owens

Look at all those kids in the lineup and you're still bitching about Downey? It's obvious now that Babcock is just doing it to piss you off.

Owens on the top line... what if this guy makes the team? him and tatar have been the two best prospects from the games i have seen (red and whire/last night's)

Talk about a massacre.

Just the exact same thing you saw last night, only flipped. Chicago throwing most of the "A" team out there, while Detroit will be going with it's "B" team and scrubs. Now you'll know what us Hawk fans felt like last night.

I'm actually glad Downey is in. I feel better having someone out there who will look after these other guys.

Anyone know the Chicago lines yet? I assume they're going to be bringing some heat.

Well, he will definitively be in the line-up to make sure that no cheap shot or knee on knees occur... oh wait....

Get well soon Franzen!

Owens was great last night, but I thought Mursak was impressive as well. At least he was bumped to the 3rd from last night. Not sure if I understand the whole Tatar on the 4th line thing, since he's obviously a very talented player with top line potential. Whatever I'm just glad I'm able to watch some hockey.
