Even if he dove or not a slash to the Achilles tendon isn't something any player should do. If you want to put a guy on LTIR than go for it.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a dive. Neiderietter left the game afterwards and didn't return.

If he's out for an extended period of time I'll really feel bad for the Islanders... Streit and Okposo are already out for a while, and DiPietro will undoubtedly be injured for the season five or ten games in.

Niederreiter has already shown that he has the ability to be a (being totally PC here) "chippy" player. Cammalleri should have shown more restraint and waited for either the regular season or the playoffs for retribution.

Which actually makes it worse. He's been in the league long enough and should know better. Taken separately they might let this slide, but considering the pokes to the neck area and then the BC two-hander to the leg, a suspension wouldn't be surprising.

Nope Niederreiter just got drafted this year. He has a history with Leafs prospect Nazem Kadri though from last year's world juniors.

Sounds like he's a little bit of a punk but since he's in the east and will play the Pens 6 times a year, I think I'll like him .
