The only way we can find out the real answer is when these teams play eachother on non-back-to-back nights, campbell and sharp in for chicago, and abdelkader for the wings...

Sharp is a wings' killer so... when they are on the team it will be tough to win against them for sure.

I saw this on another site. Not sure if there's already links to the clip in this thread.

I'm actually a fan of Keith, but wtf? and how did this not get called? Then the Rafalski penalty, double wtf??

Not that it'll happen because he's the Norris winner, but that elbow is suspension-worthy.

Interesting thing about all of you who got Detroit's feed and your posts about this hit. I somehow missed it and the Chicago announcers sure didn't help out because I don't think they mentioned it. Go figure... Eddie did (barely) suggest that the call on Rafalski was bogus.

Your right, I had the Chicago announcers also and they didn't mention that hit at all, I remember seeing Salei going to the bench afterwards but they never said a thing about it. They also kept re-iterating that Hawks were dominating Wings in the Wings zone, but never mentioned some of the puck movement in Chicago's zone done by the Wings.

LGW is a better place now than it was before he graced us with his presence.

He's worse than Mindfly was at first. Let's see how long he lasts.

"I think we're going to get a little battle for who's our top line," Babcock said after the Chicago victory. "I think Mule and Bert and Fil are going to battle to be the top line. I like that. They were excellent -- they're big bodies and they skate, and they're good defensively."

Anyone else incredibly excited about the bolded part? The top two lines battling each other, making each other better and tougher.

a little competition has done nothing but make people better or make the quitters quit... I hope they battle it out all year

n hopefully nhl 11 can get the lines right this year instead of putting our second line as our first.... that s*** was annoying in 10

I thought that the Filppula line was gonna be good but I never imagined it would be good enough to challenge the ZDH line for top line status. After Babs said that I thought, "REALLY??? Holy crap that would be awesome."

The Flip line is good. Probably a decent first line on an average team. But it's nowhere near DZH. If you actually think Flip's line might be better this year than DZH, then the DZH line will be having a BAD season.

The BFF line is better than the ZDH line is some areas already. Its a more north south line than ZDH. Bert and mule are two big guys and the goals from that line will be gritter than ZDH line. with that said Z and Dats are gonna score more exciting goals than the BFF line.... IMHO I'm just thankful that it is even possible to debate this topic... it means we have two really good top lines.

As for the ZDH line having a "bad year" if BFF compete for 1st squad, thats hogwash. Mule is arguably the biggest goal scorer on our team with talks of him being our next 50 goal guy, that line has tons of talent and potential and it would not be a bad year by ZDH to lose 1st squad to BFF - but a good year from BFF's line.

Yes, the second line is more physical. Yes, the second line has scored more than the first so far. But part of that has been the Wings playing against teams with weak defense after their top pairing, which has generally been matched against DZH. Swap the defensive matchups and I wonder what the results are.

If the defensive match ups were swapped ZDH would run over the other teams second D parings. I understand your point 100%, was just saying a good year from BFF would not indicate a bad year from ZDH.

Haha me too, but I can't take credit for it. another poster on here used it and it kinda just stuck with me.

Every single member of that line had spent significant time with each other beforehand. Fil and Bert last year and even Mule and Bert in 07. So it's like no matter what they really are the BFF line, haha.
