I hate the Ducks

I can honestly say I hate the ducks more then I ever hated the Avalanche. Atleast when the Avalanche would fight they wouldnt go after players that never fight. 2 years ago after game 6 they go after Rafalski, Pronger fights Cleary, then tonight Perry fights Datsyuk. The ducks are the biggest cowards in the league. Perry cant even win a fight with Datsyuk who has never fought before, how pathedic. I hope Perry is embarassed to look himself in the mirror, the *****!

the game was lost... ducks where just trying to fight just to fight i doubt he singled him out cuz he cant fight and how did dats win again?

Removing homer glasses for a minute, I can see how you wouldn't call it a "win" and maybe a draw, but then you factor in that Perry is supposed to be tougher than Dats, and if you are forced to pick a winner ou have to give the edge to Dats. Was it a beat down, no... But did Dats have the edge in a fight he should have been out classed in? ( this guy won the Lady Byng 3 times!) Absolutely! Those facts make it a win for Dats!

Datsyuk definitely got the better of that fight. Typically classless by the Ducks, but we beat them like usual.

Let them goon it up, they simply embarrassed themselves tonight. Perry a supposed tough guy gets beat up in a fight he initiated against a 3 time Bing winner who has never fought before?

Pathetic.

this is my thought... i wanted wings to score on the last PP just to embarrass them that is where u do the most damage sure the ducks showed hey look we fight alot.... but who came out with the 2 points?

I've a feeling this was coming for some time. Anaheim can't stand getting their asses handed to them by a bunch of "old" men, and their frustrations hit the overflow bin. So what do they do? Pick fights with guys who don't need to fight to prove themselves. And all they did was make themselves look like the damned fools they are. Classless bunch of cretins.

I can't wait to see what Don Cherry has to say about this.

Hey!! Don't forget about Jimmy Howard giving Ferry the old blocker and glove wash as well. I'm beginning to really like Howie. As for Dats fighting, I never want to see that again, if he would have been injured in that, I would have been pissed! The crowd was epic during and after the fight, I simply cannot believe Datsyuk now has a Gordie Howe hat trick! Insane!! GO WINGS!!

I was at the pub with some buddys when I looked up and saw a scrap. Looking closer, I realized it was Datsyuk! I was so afraid, and never want to see that again. I'm glad that he held his own, and connected with some shots. Sure he took a few shots to the face, but Dats put in a respectable effort for a 3 time Lady Byng winner. Not to mention, what was Perry doing?

If there's one person I really can't stand in the NHL it's Corey Perry. The next time we play them I hope he gets Kronwall'd so bad it's not even funny. I want it to make the Havlat hit look childish.

I know you guys are pretty concerned about Datsyuk fighting because of the risk of injury, but I've got to say it was a really cool moment nonetheless. Once in a while you have to stand up for yourself, superstar or no. Plus, as in everything else he does, Datsyuk seemed pretty smart during the fight and got the better of it. I don't want him seeking fights but when a douchebag like Perry comes calling you've got to put him in his place.

As a swedish citizen I also think there is just too much goonery going on in the ducks, but if you look at it and being objective.. what are they gonna do, their team is full of typical "good ol canadian boys" and this is how they play when everything goes against them... crosby does the same with zetterberg, perry can't handle datsyuk.. it's their way of showing frustration... and let's be honest, what else are they gonna do, they knew they didn't have the skill to match detroit so they tried to put them off their game by gooning it up but as we saw it didn't work - at all... they must have a plan B that's not GOON IT UP BOYS.

Generally speaking, when you are losing big and a game is all but lost before the final seconds tick off, more chippy/rough stuff can possibly be expected from the team that will lose. But this is the Ducks, this is nothing new, they are chippier and dirtier than your usual team.

ya, perry had a pretty embarrassing night: ended fight with dats on bottom, got majorly stood up by stuart, got facewashed by jimmy, no points.

Perry also got roughed up pretty thoroughly by Ericsson when he deliberately landed on Howie. In fact, I'm wondering if that's when his back went out. Damn. :(

Since you are a fan of both, I'm more curious to know what you thought of the Ducks picking fights like that? It was very clear to me that Zetterberg was a target on that play, and so Dats was more or less fighting to say "hey, back off my man". Anyways, my opinion on fights is that the guy who lands the most hits wins the bout (with the takedown adding a few pts) so I saw Datsyuk as winning that. Also... Detroit won that skirmish for sure, as they came out with a PP i think? :P

It's not uncommon to start scrums when down 4-0. The Wings are probably one of the few teams that doesn't do it, because we don't have the personnel.

In the Ducks defense, who could they start scrums with? We only have a handful of guys on our team that have ever "willingly" dropped the gloves. Bertuzzi didn't want to fight yesterday, and Abby and Ericsson weren't playing.

It's only natural that the Ducks took their frustrations out on a non-fighter, because that's what our whole lineup was.

I really expected that with Pronger and Neidermeyer gone, that crap would cease, but that was obviously naive on my part as that attitude is apparently pervasive throughout the team. Shades of the Calgary Flames. If you can't beat 'em, beat 'em down, I guess. Or at least attempt to. I think we can at best claim a moral victory here. Dats certainly didn't win, but he held his own and that's all we can ask for.

I'd like to see Perry and Iginla fight to the death.

I hate the Ducks too bu you are wrong about the Avalanche. The turtle went after Kozlov several times during those rivalry games. I am sick of ANY team who goes after our players when they are very obviously frustrated because they are being outplayed. The NHL in my opinion needs to crack down on this BS.
