Guest Howard He Do It?!

I think that puck glanced off of Salei's stick. Let the goalie make the save and get your stick out of the way.

He could of stopped the puck.

It deflected off of Salei's stick. It's not that simple.

Umm, Howard could have had that.

Not every goal is unstoppable.

Every goalie everywhere "could have" every shot. But they don't. It was a good shot, and it very well may have been tipped.

Dude, all he had to do was reposition himself in such a way that the path of the puck would intersect some portion of his body. God, I feel like goalies must not know that or something.

Because he has all the time in the world to make that reposition. Jimmy was in position to make the save and in a split second the puck was deflected and in the back of the net. Again, it's not that simple.

It wasn't that great of a shot. Bad angle, and Howard did not look like he was in good butterfly to stop it.

His body language after the goal doesn't help, either.

GMR: Filpulla has been giving them blocked shots. They have hardly had to try with Val taking up the role of shinguard assassin.

That makes sense with non-butterfly goaltenders and with shots that redirect from the point. Neither of those happened here.

The butterfly is meant to cut off those kinds of goals if done correctly, and Howard did not do it well enough. If it had deflected over the shoulder that is another story, but it went right underneath where his glove was supposed to be.

And the most important part, it was deflected.

I was hoping the outlandishness of my statement alone would be enough to indicate my sarcasm. Next time I'll throw a :P in there for good measure.
