RusDRW 155 Report post Posted October 13, 2010 Well, at the beginning, greatest hits of all time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqjcPOVJ2eU and part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCeU1uec86g&feature=related Just take a look at those hits. Most of those are illegal nowadays. Most of those are knee-to-knee ones, the rest are shoulder-to-the-head hits. Well, advertising this is a different question. The big question is.... Are there any differences between these two leagues? NHL back then in 80s and the current version of NHL? It looks like it is currently allowed to hit to the head until a guy gets something serious. Well, back then it was allowed too. Same with knee-to-knee hits. A lot of interference in those videos? Well, there are much more of that in the play-offs nowadays. It looks like they just set some rules no one needs to follow.
Booster313 138 Report post Posted October 13, 2010 (edited) Players are stronger, faster, and in better shape than back then, the speed of the game has increased thus increasing the speed at which players are hit and the chance for injury. I also don't think most of those are illegal. Edited October 13, 2010 by Booster313 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
