Preivew:

The Griffins have recorded a sluggish start to the season, gaining only 1 point from their first two outings. It's not entirely surprising though given their vast overhaul during the summer. They have 3 rookies and 3 new veteran additions, while on the back end if the line-up is as listed below, only two were regulars last season. The Griffins travel to Manitoba to try and hand the Moose their first loss of the season.

Offensively, Ilari Filppula has made a strong start on a line with Johnson and Minard, while Jan Mursak kicked started his season with a goal and assist against Rockford. More is expected from captain Jamie Tardif and Jordan Owens, both are without a point through the first two games. MacDonald is expected to get the start tonight and will be looking to get his first win in a Griffins uniform for many years.

Possible line-up:

Pare - Emmerton - Mursak

Minard - Johnson - Filppula

Tatar - Andersson - Coetzee

Owens - Raedeke - Tardif

Meech - Smith

Kolosov - Pyett

Amadio - Lashoff

(Ehrhardt/Piche)

MacDonald

McCollum

Team Leaders:

Goals: 6 tied (1)

Assists: Filppula, Minard, Tatar, Smith (2)

Points: Smith (3), 5 tied (2)

+/-: 8 tied (E)

PIM's: Amadio (7), Meech (6)

10/16 GDT:

GR puts up their second straight win over the Manitoba Moose.

Andersson 1 G

iFlip 1 G

Smith 1G 5 PIM

Kolosov and Owens also got into scraps. Did anyone watch? How was the game? I'm interested in hearing about Smith's Gino assisted by Tatar and how he did in his fight.

Missed it, pity, sounded like a ripper of a game.

Gee Smith's made an impressive start. 4 points in 4 games.

Scoring today went like this:

1. GR Andersson, (1) (Meech, Tardif), 12:46 (PP)

2. GR Filppula, (1) (Mursak, Ehrhardt), 13:29

3. GR Smith, (2) (Tatar), 12:43

Wow, I havent seen Smith yet but with 2+2 in 4 games it seems like he is off to a great start. Also, how is Smith at dropping the gloves? He never really has the opportunity to show that part of his game before.
