MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 15, 2010 I still think he could be a decent player if put in a more freewheeling system.
Guest Heaten Report post Posted October 15, 2010 I remember this board was pretty high on him back in 2008 and wanted Kenny to get him here at all costs... He did score 29 points with Stars in 08-09, but was a -8.

hockey&beer 16 Report post Posted October 15, 2010 Kinda funny the Wings dropped Leino and Dallas has now given up on Brunnstrom.

Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 he picked Dallas as he felt he could make their roster, unlike the Detroit one. Could he come in, re-place Hommer? same jersey #! does he have a clause in his contract that triggers off a payment when hes played 100 games in the NHL, as he sits at 99 at present. BigWillieStyle 662 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 if im not mistaken he had a choice detroit or dallas and he picked dallas He chose Dallas, because he was told he would be on the big club there. Kenny had the same plans for Fabian as he did with Leino. One year in GR to get used to the NA style of play. Fabian took the choice that got him to the NHL quicker. Looks like that worked out real well for him. Sure, he'd be a good project, but we can't afford to put a claim on on him right now. Plus, I've heard he's lazy, and he sucks. hooon 1,089 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 Yeah, its too bad he didn't end up here a few years ago when he had the choice, but at this point I'm not sure we'd really want another reclamation project. I remember the hype about him a couple years ago, and didn't he score a hat trick in his first NHL game? I'm surprised the article says that probably no one will claim him. He has a cheap hit, there are definitely teams who could use him.

Apparently his work ethic is a complete joke in comparison to Homer's.
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted October 16, 2010 Dallas: pays a lot o' money on Brunnstrom, eventually waives him Detroit: pays less money for Leino, gets a pick (and a spare part) for him Detroit wins. Regarding Brunnstrom, while I think he's overhyped, I also think Dallas misused him. He's more suited to a top 6 role, which Dallas has no room for now. A team like the Pens could make use of him.
