Me and my roommate were sitting outside before class today and got to talking about the Red Wings, like we always do. We started talking about who could beat the Wings in a 3 vs 3 game. The Wings team obviously being Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Lidstrom.
We went through most of the league and could not think of another team that could stand up against us.
The Pens would be Malkin, Crosby, then either Letang or Orpik. That team wouldn't stand a chance against the Wings.
I think only the Blackhawks would really put up a fight with Toews, Hossa, and Keith.
Thoughts?

how are you so sure the pens wouldnt put up a fight? I certainly think they would. I would pay a ton of money to watch this either way.

I think Martin is probably the Pens best d-man, but that doesn't matter. My real concern is, how long are these guys going to play. Everyone is going to be pretty tired after 2 min.

ya id say the pens would be a worthy opponent. id like to see lids get switched out with kronner though. id like to see a little more speed in a 3v3 game.

A while ago I would say Vinny, St. Louis and Ohlund would be a good match. Not so sure anymore.
I think the pens group OP mentioned would be tough.

It depends. If we are motivated Dats-Zetter-Lids would win againts any "Crosbys". If not, and taking into account that 3 on 3 most likely to happen during the regular season, we are going to lose.
Sweet. This dude was brought here for one reason, to punch people in the head - every other thing that he can do, other Wings can do better. I like that we have a head-puncher. The league has other, better head-punchers, but this one is ours. Better than nothing. Good work, Kenny!

With the parity in the league, there aren't any teams that couldn't ice one hell of a 3-man unit that could compete with any other 3-man unit in the league... the part that would separate teams would be 3-man unit #2 and #3

Backstrom would play D obviously, with Green and Ovy as wingers.
