PREVIEW:

With two consecutive wins against the Moose, the Griffins have moved to 4th spot in the North Division. Their opponent for tonight, Milwaukee, are in last place in the West Division with just 4 points from 4 games. Rookie Brendan Smith has made an impressive start to his AHL career as he's on PPG pace, and since stepping into the line-up Travis Ehrhardt has performed well. Logan Pyett has missed the past 2 games with a slight injury but the offensive defenceman should be back tonight. If he is, Brian Lashoff will likely be scratched.

In the most recent game, rookie Joakim Andersson recoreded his first point, a goal, in North America and offensive dynamos Jan Mursak and Tomas Tatar each have 3 points through four games. Joey MacDonald is expected to get the start tonight and with 3 games in as many nights, the Griffins will rotate goaltenders. With such a busy schedule over the coming days, hopefully rookie Willie Coetzee will get another look as to this point he only played on opening night.

Go the Griffs, go Jan!

Some nice quotes here:

Link

After Toronto scored five goals in its first home win of the season Saturday against the Oklahoma City Barons, the Marlies tried to play run-and-gun with the talented Griffins.

"We don't have as much skill as they do," Marlies head coach Dallas Eakins said. "We fell into the trap of 'OK, you want to play a skilled game. Let's play one too.' And they firmly shoved it up our rears."

As for the previous game:

Thomas McCollum, a 20-year-old prospect of the parent Detroit Red Wings, finished with 26 saves, many of the spectacular variety, in winning his first game of the season.

"He's a first-round draft pick," said Rochester coach Chuck Weber of McCollum. "He's a Western New York (Cambria) kid who came in an gave a solid effort.
