Good on Big Bert for real, when he came here the first time I was stoked because he has always been one of the players I wish was on our team.   He was a stud with Vancouver, I mean he was big, great shot, great passer and had incredible moves, let alone pulling those moves at his size!  So I'm glad he found that level again, some argued he was done and some new it was still there...Im just grateful he proved it here!  Good on you Bert <img src="http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif" alt="" class="bbc_emoticon">

I've always liked Bert even when he played with the Nucks.. I was more than on board when I heard when the Wings signed him the first time... It's good to see him playing well and my Bert man crush is stronger than ever.. Keep it up #44, in Todd we trust

If things continue all season for The Todd as they have thus far....he and his beard will only be rivaled by that of Chuck Norris.

I've been a fan of The Todd since the '02 playoffs. He was an absolute beast! He was one of the players that I loved to hate, because he was so good. I never imagined I'd see that big #44 in red and white but am thrilled about it! So glad he was re-signed for a couple more years.

I was actually at his first game playing as a Wing a few years ago against Columbus (shootout loss :() when they picked him up at the trade deadline.

Who would have thought last year Bertuzzi would be one of only 3 Red Wings to play all 82 games???

Great to see him playing so well. Far different player from the guy the Wings picked up at the deadline in 07.

I'll admit that when he signed the contract last summer I wasn't ecstatic. But I have to give Bert some props here as one of my major knocks against him was his defensive side. Leading the team with a +13 is very nice, not to mention the 14 pts in 16 games.

So my hats off to you Bert. May you keep it up.

Cheers!

He's doing very well across the board.

I always liked Bert as a Wing. I was happy when we signed him again because I had a real good feeling that on his end, he signed because he knew leaving was a mistake. Translation: he wouldn't be taking this for granted. He proved it last year and he's proving it even more this year. No better place than Detroit to find redemption and I hope he wins a Cup here. You can tell he's playing for that Cup, maybe this year even more than last. I love the effort he's made and I couldn't be happier to have him as a Wing.

I agree. He really wants to win this year. I think he did last year, too, but he was still getting over nagging injuries and finding his groove. Now he's healthy for the first time in a long time and he's an established part of this team. I hope he stays as long as he can.

Dear Dirty Bert,

i'm sorry for saying mean things about you in the past. i was wrong. i'm also sorry for sandwiching your name in between a barrage of profanity. i didn't realize that sloppy passes, turn overs, and stupid penalties was just your way of warming up to awesome. i hope you'll forgive me someday.

Bert has had his rough years for sure. I really have respected seeing him change his play a lot from last year. This year he has transformed himself into the ultimate team-player! and it is having a huge positive impact on the wings that play with him! He has been doing well on every line he has had to play on and with any of the players he has had to play with.

It is obvious how much he enjoys the Detroit environment and why he has worked so hard to buy into the team structure and style.

The 2 in the 2nd resulted in a Calgary point.

He high sticked Franzen in the face.

Sigh.

And then he assisted on the winning goal.
