MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted October 28, 2010 I guess the Pocket Rocket chooses not to remember all of the stick-swinging incidents his brother got into. Rocket Richard was known to snap and carve up faces on a regular basis.
Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted October 28, 2010 And this is my point. Back in the day, the game, the opponent you just defeated (in their own barn?), the playoff tradition of handshaking....all were more important than an interview, which can happen any time after honoring what just happened on the ice. Syndii didn't respect that. Crosby is the first player to be asked for an interview before the handshake line.

Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted October 28, 2010 And my point still is: he chose the interview. Respect. You mean to tell me that in a wave of euphoria captaining your first NHL Stanley Cup you would say "oh no thanks, can't forget that handshake line, even though I don't know how long that interview is"? Give me a break.

Give me a break. I would. I would be with my team. I would be honoring the opponent my team just battled for the Cup. I would be thinking that my place is on the ice. To think otherwise would make me a childish, selfish attention *****. IMHO. 1 pucktividi reacted to this

Guest Shoreline Report post Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) You know, nearly a year and a half later that handshake story, every time it's told, makes Crosby look increasingly worse. I don't even think in the Avs-Wings heyday people were this maddeningly obsessed with Forsberg or Foote or Lemieux as some chunk of Wings fans have been over Crosby, and the dumbest, most insignificant, trivial things too. I'm trying to think of a player who got more under a fanbase's skin than Crosby did the Wings fans. Maybe Rodman to the Supersonics or the Jazz.. maybe. It's so hilarious but yet so sad. Guest scottj Report post Posted October 29, 2010 The crosby hand shake doesn't really bother me on his part, I could see how one would get really excited and forget a tradition that he's not really been a part of all that much. but who the f*** has the nerve to ask for an interview before the handshake and make it last too long for him to even get in the line? gtfo...
