ACallToArms 270 Report post Posted October 28, 2010 Pens jersey is fugly. That overweight penguin is just wrong, and waaay too many stripes. Should have stuck to just one big blue stripe imho. Although it will be a nice match up, I'd much rather see a Leafs v Habs Winter Classic or at least a game with one Original Six team in it Also, yeah, those jerseys aren't anything too special. There will never be a canadian team in the winter classic. I believe there is a outdoor game in feb featuring two canadian teams. This is going to be a fun game to watch. Honestly, I know it's a business decision, but as a fan I would hope the Wings would stick with their '08 Winter Classic jerseys if they are ever allowed into the Pittsburgh Classic. Its simple, the logo is classic, and more importantly it uses THE TEAM COLORS! I don't understand why the pens and other teams go through these phases using an alternate color palette. Personally, I wouldn't mind it one bit if the wings adopted the WC jersey as an official 3rd jersey. I'd love to see it back on the ice. Avs are still a decent young squad. But yes, nothing will compare to the games of '96-'98. Nordiques jerseys would be sick though. You know that episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets to design the perfect car.....? I wonder if they (P&R guys) though for a while about changing the team mascot from the lame penguin to some *** vampire. Hannah Montana is not good for a logotype, so vampires get the nod, you know seriously... these jersey is ugly. plain and simply ugly. you could only make it worse by adding some pink and some shiny, glittering sequins. though, there's always Winter Classic 2011 which, sure like hell, will feature the Penguins, so there's fair chance we will see pink then and I'm all for league finally letting another team play winter classic. we know, Gary, that your precious Sindy sells. we get it already. time to let some other team play. and no, I don't mean Florida, Dallas or Phoenix. seriously Edited October 29, 2010 by akustyk Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

For something that came out of the '70s, it's pretty spiffy (especially after recently watching the Flames and Kings play in their throwback gear...I had to stop watching the Flames before I went blind). If they had just come up with it now and announced that it was going to replace their current one permanently, then I wouldn't be such a big fan. The Pens' jersey is just plain fug. It doesn't even have the excuse of being retro because they just threw a bunch of old elements together. Major Frankenjerseyitis. Even if it was authentic, though, I'd still think it was ugly.
