Kronwall seems to be at his worst when he's paired with Janik. I don't think that is a coincidence.

Actually that is untrue as well. More like Osgood saved both of their asses quite a few times last night. Not a good pairing overall. Counting the days for Ericsson to return so Babcock has better pairing options.

Janik stays home just like Stuart which is why he's with Kronwall. That pairing is on purpose. The options will be better once Rafalski gets back.

I have nothing against Ericsson but much like Kindl, Salei and to some degree Kronwall, his defensive play hasn't been that great is his own zone. Janik has played well especially in his own zone but he doesn't routinely jump up offensively and score a bunch of goals so he's naturally targeted here, much like Lilja was.
