Where is he gonna fit? the third line is rolling now, abdelkader is a beast, hudler is not a 4th line type player and they need both miller and eaves (helm is always in) on the PK for it to work and not fail like it did against vancouver...Right now i would have loved to use his 2.875M and put on a more gritty player, i liked the thread about clarkson, would be a much more bang for the buck in this case... now they are stuck with hudler and nowhere to put him... maybe cleary can be taken out but then again he's been hot as of late...

Hot as of late is an understatement. At the rate he's going They're going to have him on the top line again soon. No way he would ever sit a game for the Hudler we have this year.

Annnd the Eva thread is back. I guess we'll see who he baits into pointless arguments now.

I didn't start this topic, and the only post I put into it before this one was a response with regards to the fact that I "had been silent" because I couldn't post from my work computer, and I also included my opinion that Hudler and Filppula is a good combination for both players and would result in further production (check the scoresheets, please) but man, I'm clearly doing nothing but tossing out lures for pointless arguments. I'm the one who wanted to argue about Hudler, just because I've been the most "famous" Hudler supporter on LGW and have gotten all kinds of s*** for preferring Hudler to, say, Downey.

Hudler is going nowhere, and rightfully so.

He'll hit form soon, I bet he still ends up with 40+ points this season.

Babs really shouldn't have made that 70 points comment. Then again, I guess we should expect that kind of outlandish media statement by him.

Many people including myself set the bar seemingly low. We estimated that he would be around 50-55 and got a bunch of s*** because we "didn't give Hudler enough credit". At the same time, we desperately wanted him to prove us wrong in a great way for the Wings. Unfortunately, well, we all know how he's played so far.

You have to remember that Hudler has been getting about a minute less ice time than he did in 2007-08, when he scored 42 points. He's been playing well and his offensive presence has been noticeable; it's just a matter of time until the goals start coming in.

Also; Hudler has received a lot of slack for a lack of offensive production this season. To note: Hudler has not gone more than three games without a point this year.

Playing well my butt, he has looked at times like he is not interested in playing. Losing battles along the boards because he is weak and beaten to pucks because he is slow.

He is weak, and he is slow. But when he is determined to play well and has two linemates with him that can get him the puck, he is a very good playmaker. He cannot carry a line by himself, and sometimes this season it seems as though he hasn't been working hard.

Quite a broken record isn't it? Bla bla bla Hudler should be the second line center bla bla bla. Bla bla bla Hudler is the reason why any PP goal happens when he's on the ice bla bla bla.

It's not all bad I guess. Stupid users do lead to more hits and traffic on LGW, which hopefully means more ad revenue for Matt to keep the site going.

I blame the terrorists for Hudler not producing.

But I blame the terrorists for a lot of things in life, so I dunno...

Fantastic contribution.

No kidding. I haven't looked who has the overall most posts here, but it's been like the Jack of years gone by, spamming threads to get his post count up.

I don't mind the occasional bad joke, but I know you can talk hockey Jack. I've seen it in the past. ;)

As for Hudler, he appears to be coming around a bit, I'm still just surprised at how bad he looks this season compared to when he left. Something tells me hockey was not his number one priority in the KHL (insert hooker joke here) because he's never been particularly fast or strong on the puck, but he could still be effective with his craftiness. This season, not so much.

Fantastic contribution.

Indeed it was. Dry bland humor can be fun.

Okay now laugh hysterically....

All right chuckle.....

Smile at least? I know your face can't hurt that badly when you smile.

Yeesh, tough crowd...

Oh and I'm still waiting for your CONTRIBUTION in the other thread of the question I asked to you about you getting all worked up singling out Modano only for Ritola not being here. Way to continue to dodge the questions Sunshine. ;)

Any way you slice it, spam is just, well, spam...

I think Eva is right here though, I think it's just a matter of time before Hudler starts to produce as he has in the past. Huds may not be strong in the corners but he has the quickest pivot along the boards this side of Datsyuk.

I hope he does start producing. The problem is that in order for him to have that opportunity, he must continue to occupy a roster spot that would otherwise go to Miller or Eaves.

Hudler has thus far in this game shown yet again why he deserves no time on the power play. His ES play has been horrible, too. Minnesota has simply bodied him off the puck whenever he has tried to hold onto it, and he's not fast enough to evade them.

Maybe that's why we saw Filppula with Z and Bert on the next PP opportunity.

EDIT: Wrong thread. Woops

A 5'4" and 100 lb blond could body him off the puck
