Should be a good game. Howard has benefitted from Ozzie's mentoring. He doesn't let bad games or goals rattle him anymore, he'll come up huge tonight. The question is, will the rest of the team back him up? I think so, they haven't really put in too many half-assed efforts this year.

I'll be there, first trip to the Joe this season. Hopefully many more to come!

Prediction: Wings win 3-2. I guess we'll find out tonight if letting 6 goals in on Saturday will strengthen his resolve to play well for the next, or make him nervous and unsure of himself. I'm hoping for the former.

I think he's unveiling the new mask today too, so hopefully its provides some positive vibes.

Damn if i lived anywhere in michigan i would go to every other game or so

Me too if I didn't work 6 days a week and have bills up the wazoo and had someone to go with and if I could afford the tickets.

I hope they have a good game and a win tonight. It's hard to come home off of a loss, even if the two games before were wins.

All defensemen score for the Wings. Players with a "Q" in their names score for the Yotes. That is my prediction.

It's hard to go if you live far away. I'm 4.5 hours away. That's $100 gas there, $100 gas back. Tickets. Food. Beer. If you get a room for the night add some more money. At the end of the trip, for me and people who live "up north", it's around 350-400 bucks to go to a game.

I always seem to forget that public transporation hardly exist in the U.S, although i thought gas was very cheap when i was there last time, but i didnt drive a ford tundra or dodge ram or whatnot, food and beer you can easily avoid.. and you can get the cheapest tickets arent they like 30bucks?

Games are expensive to go to, when you add up ticket price, beverages, etc. I really only go when they have the coke zero family packs available, its a pretty good deal when you split it with a friend. I splurge more on tickets during the post season. Economy is rough, gotta do what ya gotta do...

It's obvious babcock wants each d-pair to have a more physical defenseman whilst the other is more playmaking and skilled offensively.. lidstrom-kronwall pairing is perhaps too "soft" to meet other teams' top lines i can imagine

Sorry you took it that way, I didn't mean to offend or so, just thought you can, if you want, get away with less than 400bucks for a game

I live in Windsor, so for me a game would cost $7.50 round trip tunnel bus right to the Joe, then ~$30 for tickets upper bowl, blue line. I'm not quite 21 so usually I dont waste money on $8.75 beers. Sometimes I go and my beer tab runs up higher than the tickets or transportation to the game.

Anyhow, I cannot complain about the prices! A regular season Wings game for me costs about $40-45.

Not going to make it tonight, I usually try only for weekend games as the traffic at the border can be bad trying to get across during the week for a 7pm start.

Well, you're a much grater person than I am if you can drive 4.5 hours, watch a 3 hour game and drive another 4.5 hours and not eat anything. So yes, you need to include food.

But if you don't eat or drink anything you're still looking at 200 bucks in gas, 35 bucks for tickets, 20 bucks for parking. That's between 250 and 260 in costs if you do the bare minimum for people like me who don't live near Detroit.

After you turn 21, it's pretty hard to resist your first beer at the Joe.

Much attention for this game as it's the only game of the day in the nhl and will be broadcasted nation wide on versus and on TSN for canada... hope wings show up

TSN's website says TSN2. If I have Centre Ice/Sports Pack does that mean I'm not getting this game???

Most people in Michigan are hard up for cash, though, too. So while 30 bucks plus gas and whatever may be "reasonable" relative to other sporting events and whatnot it's still hard to justify the expenditures sometimes.

EDIT: And Michigan is a big state, so gas can REALLY pile up if you live outside of the Metro area.
