I can. I can easily imagine a Cup for every year of Borque's contract.

But, to be honest, it kinda sickened me to see him win a Cup with the Avs after all those years in Boston. He was a great player but I kinda hold the Cup chasing against him a little for some reason. I feel like he shoulda stayed loyal to Boston... or came here.

God I miss pre-salary cap nhl where big trades could happen and you didn't have to bother about money, it was just getting guys all the time no questions asked...

Lidstrom-Borque didn't happen because the hockey Gods refuse to see a defensive line with more talent than themselves.

It's kind of the "dividing by 0" of hockey.

Coincidentally, Jimmy D summed it up in a quote back in the day when Primeau was traded. He said something to the effect of: "He wanted to be a big fish in a little pond"

At the time, he was being traded to Hartford.

I remember reading we were in the running for trading for Gretzky too, at the cost of Stevie Y and some others though. If I recall correctly, Gretsky's wife really wanted him to play here.
