Stupid thread, trading for a 7mil player, it's not 2001/2002...
Did you not read it? There were suggestions of trading Rafalski, ect. Not just Iginla to Detroit straight up.

- Green Wing, sleepwalker and Turd Ferguson like this
HankthaTank - Squirrels, they hate to be thrown. / Why is the magical unicorn named Brian... Jedi - I just downloaded the "kids" book, "Go the F--k to Sleep" as narrated by Samuel L. Jackson on my kindle. I am now ready to be a daddy. / *Checks Router* No, I'm positive I didn't hit the "Wings Defense Sucks" button. Electrophile - I'm just glad the Wings were able to win despite the Curse of Brian. ACallToArms - I think Trey needs to put something about payroll tax and deferred income in his sig... Edicius - I'd rather [have] a soundbite of me saying "I like (man sausage)" rather than "I like Crosby".

People were actually mentioning giving up Franzen. Franzen is way better than Iginla come playoff time.

Yeah Iginla's not a clutch playoff performer. He's got Jumbo Joe Symdrome. The more interesting part on there would be Mark Streit. I'd like to have Iginla, but there's no real way it's possible.

I couldn't believe it either.
This isn't a rumor. This is one of those stupid "value of" stuff. The title should be "What would it take Detroit to get Iginla" not "Rumor: Iginla to Detroit?"
Really the only reason I put it as "rumor" is because it was in the rumor section of HF Boards.

1) Trade Brian Rafalski (NTC) and perhaps another player making ~$1m
2) Trade a forward (one of Val Filppula, Jiri Hudler, or Dan Cleary) and a defenseman (one of Brad Stuart or Nik Kronwall) and perhaps another player making ~$1m.
3) Trade two forwards (two of Val Filppula, Jiri Hudler, or Dan Cleary) and perhaps another player making ~$1m.
None of those options are likely scenarios.

I wouldn't. We'd lose depth, production and take on more cap hit.I don't know about you guys but I'd give up Val and Hudler for Iginla anyday.
