GRRRR! I was all excited for this game because the Wild are on FSNorth, which I actually get, and the game was on a day when I'm home to watch it. But, NO, they are televising freaking DULUTH college hockey instead. What really sucks is that when they do that, the Centre Ice blackout is still in effect, so my mom and sister who pay money to watch the games won't get it on tv either. That is just wrong. If the Fux Sports people don't televise it, the blackout should be lifted.

This s*** happens to me every Wings/Ducks game so I feel your pain. Even though I live closer to Anaheim, I'm in the LA "zone" so I get Kings games on my local Fox network. However, Center Ice blocks out both Kings AND Ducks games cause they think I get both somehow. So, like you said, even though I pay extra I still miss some of the games I want to watch. Thanks NHL!

On a sidenote, I would love to have Staubitz on the Wings.

He had himself a good scrap with George Parros the other night. Staubitz will take on anyone.

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings hope to spark Johan Franzen by keeping him on the top line with Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg tonight against the Minnesota Wild at Joe Louis Arena (7:30, FSD).

Franzen has just one goal and three assists in his past eight games.

“It (his role) shouldn’t change much from playing with Huds and Fil (Jiri Hudler and Valtteri Filppula),’’ Franzen said. “I got to go to the net and create some space for them.’’

Franzen has played with Datsyuk a lot in the regular season and Zetterberg in the playoffs but seldom has skated on the same line with both. Coach Mike Babcock put that combination together midway through Wednesday’s game.

The Red Wings will use the same lines they practiced with on Thursday:

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Franzen

Cleary-Modano-Bertuzzi

Hudler-Filppula-Abdelkader

Holmstrom-Helm-Eaves

Miller is out, as Babcock continues his two-man rotation with Eaves.

On defense:

Lidstrom-Stuart

Ericsson-Rafalski

Kronwall-Salei

Kindl (scratched)

Howard (starting)

MacDonald

Babcock will stick with the new power-play combinations he used near the end of Wednesday’s game. The Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom line accounted for two power-play goals in the third period.

“I’m going to have three groups and we’ll see what happens,’’ Babcock said. “Our power play, as much as we talk about it, it’s in the top 10 in the league. It scored us two goals the last game. It’s got lots of goals for us, it just never seems to get multiple goals. We’d like it to be more dangerous.’’

Back-up Jose Theodore (1-2, 3.02 GAA) is expected to start in goal for the Wild as Niklas Backstrom (8-4-2, 1.91 GAA) gets a breather.

Here are Minnesota's anticipated lines and defense pairings:

Andrew Brunette-Mikko Koivu-Antti Miettinen

Cal Clutterbuck-Matt Cullen-Casey Wellman

Eric Nystrom-John Madden-Martin Havlat

Robbie Earl-Kyle Brodziak-Brad Staubitz

Nick Schultz-Justin Falk

Greg Zanon-Marek Zidlicky

Cam Barker-Marco Scandella

The Wild are missing forwards Chuck Kobasew (groin), Guillaume Latendresse and Pierre-Marc Bouchard (post-concussion syndrome) with injuries.

i hope first line goes off today. it was disappointing to see their last game stats with total -6 (including defense).

Dats, Z and Mule with goal and few assists.

Wings wins 5-1

Actually you should be able to watch the FSD feed with CenterIce.

Minnesota's feed is on KSTC, which is a local over the air station. In the written definition of the blackout rules only people within a 50 mile radius of the arena are subject to a blackout when broadcasted on local OTA. Everyone else will (should) be allowed to view the away teams feed. This is the case on GameCenter Live too, I get blacked out when games are on FSNorth channel since I'm in the region, but when it's games on KSTC I do not get blacked out. Not sure who your cable/satellite provider is, but since you're in North Dakota it shouldn't matter when it comes to Center Ice (I know Directv normally doesn't broadcast local OTA for Center Ice).
