Stanley Cup Tix

So, I am in the desert, and got here in June. I am planning to be here for at least 330 days, which will be may 18 or so. However I would be glad to stay to the end of june for the extra cash. But, if the wings make the finals, and I believe they will, I will come home to watch the finals in person. However I have never tried to buy tix to the finals. Are they pretty hard to come by? I can guess they are fairly expensive, but that will not be an issue after being here for a year. I will consider it my present to me. Any thoughts?

I went to Game 1 in 2009 after picking up tickets at face value as soon as they went on sale. Almost grabbed tix for Game 7 too but ultimately decided not to make the 4 hour drive from Indy again given that I would have done Game 1 of the WFC, SCF, & Winter Classic that year already. I didn't find it all that difficult to get them but yes, they are more expensive then regular season & earlier rounds of the playoffs.

In 2008 I got tickets for game 1 of the finals for $150 on stubhub. In 2009 I got them from ticketmaster with the presale code that was posted on here for around $170 I think. Depends on what you're willing to pay, but they shouldn't be too hard to get. Just get them early and not wait until the day before the game or something like that.

My director got them for the 2009 SCF straight off of Ticketmaster when then went on sale to the public. He actually excused himself from a staff meeting, and then returned a few minutes later to announced that he had landed a pair of tickets for one of the games.

I went through ticketmaster as soon as they went on sale for both Game 1 of the WCF & SCF. Was row 11 behind the goal on the visitor's side for the WCF & about a quarter of the way up the lower bowl just inside the blue line across from the Wing's bench for the SCF. Could have actually grabbed tix right on the ice for Game 1 of the SCFs but didn't want to drop that much money.

i got tickets for game 7 two years ago when we lost to the Pens. They had a presale for the cup finals about halfway through the Chicago series. There was a code involved which I found quickly with a google search. The cheapest tickets available, directly from ticketmaster, were $250 a piece. i think i got an email from the wings alerting me to the sale.

They are generally not hard to find. Already mentioned are Ticketmaster and Stub Hub.

I went to game 1 of the SCF the year we won it against the Pens. I bought my ticket on eBay, there were quite a few on there in the days leading up to the game.

That's the kind of boss I want.

2009 SCF Game 2 - The Malkin/Zetterberg fight; Abbie bouncing puck goal game. Went on Ticketmaster about 2 hours after they were available. Had NO problem then. Bought 6 tickets for about $110 each. Sold three for $150 each. Corner up top SECTION 217B ROW 12.

Next day a buddy of mine went on and bought two tickets down low for next home game and paid like $200 each and couldn't sell them for face value- lost like $150 and didn't go.

Actually got 2 standing room only tickets to game 2 of the SCF in 2008 the day of the game via ticketmaster. Wouldn't suggest waiting that long before buying your ticket, but I would recommend standing room only - its like a party 100% of the time. Besides, if you're like me, you wanna stand in anticipation anyway. :3

Went to Game 1 of the 2009 Finals. Bought tickets on Ticketmaster. Can't remember cost but was around $100 I think. Only negative was that we got generic tickets and not the fancy Season Ticket holder tickets.

of course let's hope that we hear this after Wings take 4th game in 2011 Stanley Cup...

Also went in 2004 to Game 6 of the Flames/Bolts in Calgary. The Flames released 300 tickets on the Thursday before the game (Game 6 was on a Saturday). There were 3 of us who called at 9am, and 2 of the 3 got 2 tickets each. Couple of my buddies bought tickets off ebay and joined us for the drive down. The seats were not assigned so you got to sit in the upper section wherever you got a seat. We arrived like 2 or 3 hours early and were WAY up but at least got center ice. Flames President Ken King came out before the game to thank the fans which I thought was cool.

Sweet, thanks for the info. Sounds like I will be able to see them play for the cup. Because we know they have the team this year, plus Modano just has to go out on top like Drake did. Something to look forward to. Just six more months in the bizarro land of the desert.....
