Why I'm Thankful Babcock is the Wing's coach

Yes the game was probably out of reach for Washington, 4 goals down with under three minutes left (though if anyone could come back from that deficit, it would be the Caps).

But what do you think Babcock would do if the Wings were in this situation and his players made this kind of defensive effort?

Particularly Green, who had a great seat for the goal, but Chimera could've hustled back too and helped out Schultz who looked like he was half assing it and got undressed.

I'm sure these bad habits won't hurt the Caps come playoff time. :P

Wow they really made Ovechkin look good there. No way that flies on a team that actually works hard. Both of those guys could have stopped that even after Ovechkin blew past them.

I think you're getting confused :P

That was Alexander Burmistrov of Atlanta, not Ovechkin. The Caps are in white in that video.

This is why I cannot WAIT until we play the East.

I hope they show that much effort in the third against Detroit. We'll have Modano with a hat trick and s*** :)

Pooor effort by the Caps. And they're running neck and neck with us for the LEAD of the NHL.

They have one bad game and they just went home early. That's amateur.

This might sound like a cliche or hyperbole, but that seriously looks like something out of the CHL. It was reminiscent of a Taylor Hall last season.

Maybe Hall would score 40 goals if he were drafted by a team in the East like Crosby and Ovechkin were.

They have 2 more wins than us, and 5 more points, but they've played 3 more games. We have won more games than anyone else at this point. Of 17 games, we have 12 wins. In the west, Vancouver has 12 wins, with 20 games.

And yet, the hockey media constantly mentions Green as a Norris candidate. I don't get it.

His defense of late has been way sub-par. Maybe spending too much time taking photo shoots for girly magazines and not practicing.

I still think he should have won the Norris when he was nominated as a finalist for it. He made a few highly publicized errors but his defense was pretty sound. Watching him this season, he just sucks so far.
