Article says he got his bell rung, and hurt his shoulder a bit, but it is nothing significant.

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings will know more about the condition of forward Danny Cleary when they return to practice on Tuesday, but general manager Ken Holland said on Monday that he does not have a significant injury.

Holland said Cleary "got his bell rung'' and might have hurt his shoulder, too, when he was checked into the boards by Calgary's Mark Giordano late in the second period Sunday.

Cleary wanted to return to the game, but Holland said doctors held him out as a precaution.

"He's going to be OK,'' Holland said. "Piet (trainer Van Zant) said to me after the game that it's nothing significant. He's day-to-day.''

Good news. I'm glad for Danny.

In other news, did any of you notice that after getting whacked into the boards, he went to the front of the net anyways instead of staying down? Typical Cleary..

Hate to be a pessimist, but anything that involves shoulder with Dan Cleary is worrisome to me. We don't need him to have nagging pain/injuries this year, we need him to be healthy so he can keep up his amazing point streak.

Cleary is a beast, but the guy plays so hard, with such heart that he often gets hurt. That said, if he is 100% okay, then I hope Hudler sits and Miller and Eaves play. They can absorb some of the physical game as well. Seeing that little midget out there floating around and letting everyone else do the work. ... sorry to rant.

ya, he was pissed about the hit. He went to the front of the net and as Kiprusoff covered the puck Clearly clocked Girodano in the back of the head as they fell to the ice. It was kinda funny

I bet your tune would be different if the shoe was on the other foot ;)

I'm more worried about the bell ringing part. Plus the article said he "might" have hurt his shoulder, not that he "did" hurt his shoulder, big difference.
