Darren Pang's freudian slip

What do YOU mean them?

The White Way....Right Way.

Haha, I hadn't thought of that.

Honestly, the words are extraordinarily close. Your lips only have to get slightly lazy when talking (which can happen when you talk a lot) and suddenly "white" can come out instead of "right."

Sad yes, but given the history of inequality concerning human rights all over our planet it's not surprising. I'm thankful everyday that I live in a country that never condoned or allowed slavery, and I'm glad that the USA is doing everything it can to make up for mistakes of the past. That being said, I'm sure Panger didn't mean to imply anything with his slip up, and I don't think anything will come of this, he may be annoying at times but I doubt he's racist given that he's good buddies with Stevie Y, and The Captain would never be friends with anyone who was like that I'm sure.

Don't be too proud. The only reason that Canada as you know it never participated in slavery is quite simply because it isn't old enough, even if you go as far back as 1867.

You might also want to do some reading on pre-confederation Canada.

Slavery is as old as human history, and I get really hacked off at the modern day PC propaganda that slavery was something that was only done by white europeans to black africans.

I think he actually meant white because he had black pk subban on his mind

Or the fact a lot of people said ride receiver instead of wide receiver. Happens all the time. I luaghed at the video, he had to feel like the sickest man in the world after he said that.

Hopefully this doesn't become a big deal because it's not at all. He just got ahead of himself while thinking of the word, "way" and "white" slipped out. I was expecting something worse, and I think you all know which word I'm talking about...

Good thing they weren't talking about which player was bigger, eh? lol

Seriously though, the PC-ification of America these days is getting utterly ridiculous. The fact that he felt the need to, or was forced to, apologize publically over what was obviously just an innocent slip of the tongue just further proves this.

Darren Pang is not a closet racist. People confuse words all the time. Granted, this one has the potential to look bad, but it was a clear speaking mistake. Pang had to feel like sh*t afterwards.

And please for the love of God, don't show this to Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, as they're liable to march outside the NHL studios if they saw it.

Yeah...and that is ridiculous.

To be living in such overly PC-ified times that you actually end up feeling horrible and getting a knot in your stomach for making an innocent mistake in speech, that meant nothing more than being a simple slip of the tongue in two words that are nearly identical, is a sad state of affairs.

Honest mistake, nothing should come of it.

Hey, even the guy who does promos on Fox Sports Detroit mixes up his Rs and Ws. It sounds like he calls the Red Wings Weekly show "Wed Wings Weekwy" and the network "Fox Sports Detwoit".

It almost makes it worse that he corrected himself by saying "the right way" haha

of course he didn't mean white is right when he said this thou. he meant to say right and because of the whole racial thing he accidently said white (people mix up W and R all the time, like how little kids always say wed wings). I understand why he did it and it's still good he corrected himself. its just a realllllll unfortunate slip lol. bye bye ESPN career.

PANGER'S A RACIST!!! Just kidding. Of course he didn't mean to say that. In fact, I don't even think we all need to say we don't think he's a racist, but I guess that's for the benefit of the PC police lurking out there. Hehe, can you imagine if this had happened in NASCAR instead of hockey? Nobody would EVER believe the person didn't mean to say it. ;)

I still like the "excellent sex" incident better, though. Such a great mental picture, heh.

Or like Bill Jeanerette calling us "the rings" during a radio commentary a couple of years ago. Now that was a freudian slip :champs:
