The Griffins earned their second home win of the season last night and looked great doing it. They moved the puck well, killed off some questionable penalties, and won in pretty convincing fashion - especially since it was 1-1 after the 1st.
They carried the play through much of the 1st, but gave up a breakaway goal that tied things at 1 late in the 1st period. The Griffs killed off some penalties in the 2nd and were able to tally another to push it to 2-1.
A 2-on-1 goal made it 3-1 in the 3rd before the Admirals tallied another powerplay goal.
Despite the 3-2 score and the penalty killing, the Griffins always seemed in control of the game and it honestly made me wonder why they can't perform like this any given night. I've seen them play the Admirals twice this season and in neither game were they able to control the play like they did last night. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
12/8/10 Admirals @ Griffins
