12/13 GDT: Kings, Lots (5) at Red Wings, None (0)

Yep. Obviously, it doesn't help that we can't even score a single goal, but if Howard had been playing even halfway decent in goal tonight, this would only be a 2 or 3 goal deficit instead of 5. This is one of those games where his rebounds are a really glaring problem.

zero offense means a loss... regardless of the other team's scoring. Not on Jimmy that they did nothing tonight.

I think everyone is quick to forget (no pun intended) just how good Jimmy is the majority of the time. But this is Detroit. Under the bus you go, kiddo.

sigh... shut out.

This is embarrassing. They need to have a mercy rule to put teams out of their misery.

What is so frustrating is that the Wings started the game off so well, I thought they were going dominate, instead we have this train wreck.

LA got their game together on that first commercial break. Detroit controlled starting out and the Kings couldn't make plays through the neutral zone. After the break the started playing dump and chase hockey and they got the quick goal. The rest is history.

Oh yeah, and then Quick's just been insane...

Oh, I agree. Ozzie could at least score a goal. He would need to tonight. Jimmy's got nothing in the tank tonight. Watching the team shoot puck after puck with no result must be pretty deflating.

That's no excuse. That, IMO, is what seperates the good from the great. You need to stay focused. Rememeber those good goaltender duels in the playoffs? So your team in dominating. You don't go into the deflated mentality...then you let your team down.

Quick is playing out of his mind. Howard should be up to the task. This has nothing to do with no gas in the tank or deflating feelings. He. Craped. The. Bed. Simple as that. The first to softies set the tone.

Yes, because letting in 5 goals, most of them softies, is excused by poor offense.

It's not like Howard let in 2 goals. He let in 5 and at some of the worst times. You can't gloss over that fact.

Its like i thought, the wings are still playing like s***. The last 2 games were 1. the worst team in the league that cant score, and 2. 14mins of PP time.

Those wins weren't cause the wings played good. We got outplayed in the NJ game, and 5 on 5 in the Habs game.

Wings have to be better, especially the ******* 2nd line. whens the last time they scored? the whole line isnt doing s***. Cleary is doing it himself on the 3rd line.

On top of that howard and the defense has to be better

I agree about Howard but it's not as if the offense has done nothing. They've generated quality scoring chances and controlled the puck in the Kings zone often, but Quick is just having one of those games. This isn't one of those games where the offense just plain sucks. They just met a goalie playing an inspired game. They play this game again tomorrow and we could be up by 5. As some have said, it's not an embarrassing game, just a frustrating, s***ty game.

Totally agree... If it were 2-0 right now, I would feel bad they lost, but a hot goalie is a hot goalie cant help that. But this game is about to be beyond words.

Jimmy's on the other end of the ice. He can't help them score... even one? Really. One more time: 2 goals or 5 against, it doesn't matter if you can even score one.

Interesting. I didn't know they hung the jerseys logo-first after a win, and name first after a loss...

I was actually going to complain about Doc making that comment, but then again I learned that on a Red Wings Weekly or whatever it's called now. I do forget there are a lot of you that don't get that extra stuff.
