Jimmy's on the other end of the ice. He can't help them score... even one? Really. One more time: 2 goals or 5 against, it doesn't matter if you can even score one.

When a goalie gives up softies, it deflates the rest of the team.

These guys aren't machines. That does get to them like other teams.

I was actually going to complain about Doc making that comment, but then again I learned that on a Red Wings Weekly or whatever it's called now. I do forget there are a lot of you that don't get that extra stuff.

Ya its the whole 'we win as team, lose as individuals' thing

Yes, because letting in 5 goals, most of them softies, is excused by poor offense.

It's not like Howard let in 2 goals. He let in 5 and at some of the worst times. You can't gloss over that fact.

Most of our best chances were well before the game was out of hand. If the PP wasn't so weak it would have been competitive.

Going down 3-0 early in the third isn't going to spark the offense. If the game starts 0-0 or even 1-0 at the start of the third the team can feel good about their performance in the first 40 minutes.

There was still 20 minutes. Remember the Blues game where they scored 4 in the third?

Once they put themselves in a 3-0 hole they pretty much screwed themselves out of a comeback.

I think the point people are making here is not that fact he score or not. Quick is playing great...if we lose we lose...we lose 2-0, fine then. But Howie let up really bad shots. He's been going down to early, and his angles are way off...and his rebound control today is that of a pee-wee player.

It's the goals he let up. If he let up difficult crazy ...can't do a dang thing about goals then fine. He flat out stunk it up.

Howard needs to be better than that.

Maybe he's being overplayed. With Osgood actually playing pretty decent I think they need to do more of a rotation so Jimmy doesn't get worn out. But after the game on Saturday, Babcock pretty much said that Ozzie will get a game here and there, but Howard is the main man.

apparently, nothing will spark offense tonight. I simply refuse to lay all the blame on Jimmy, when there are four lines of guys out there... doing nothing. He can't be deflated by this game, but they can? Poor babies. Perhaps if they had gotten even one goal after that third one against, we'd have a different ending?

Do they only hang up the goalie's jersey after a loss? That's how it works on this forum.

If it were like this forum they wouldn't hang Howard's jersey.. they would hang Howard... and Hudler.

Right. Because it's his fault that he lost track of a deflected puck?

Maybe Howard wouldn't lose track of his deflected pucks if he'd stop giving up his AHL level patent rebounds. What a joke of a comment.
