Shehan's line stood out according to bob mckenzie, good to hear.

Btw was Helm the last wings prospect to play for team canada in the world juniors?

and yes Helm was the last Wings prospect to play in the WJ for Canada...

although Shawn Matthias played in 2008 but had been traded to Florida in the Bertuzzi trade of 2007.

I believe Logan Pyett was out last prospect to play for team Canada at the WJC. I could be wrong though.

Sheahan is fighting for the last Center position with 3 other guys...

the locks at center are

1.Schenn

2.Johansen

3.Couturier

4.up for grabs between Sheahan Pirri RNH and Cizikas (hopefully Sheahan)

Cameron wants big, defensive minded centers he said in an interview, that helps Sheahans chances. He's also got some points through camp and his line has been standing out apparently. He caused a turn over that led directly to a goal as well.

Mackenzie pretty much said he is the best defensive center, which could give him a big edge because maybe they'll want to send a 4th line shut down type line and he would be the guy for that.

Its also looking like Foligno will make it as the 4th line bruiser type, and he and Sheahan have shown to have great chemistry with one another. He's having a good camp, a strong game tonight should give him the edge, I haven't heard anything about Pirri and I know team canada doesn't like sending many underagers.

With Courturier I doubt they will wanna send 2 underage centerman to the tourney. Sheahan has also been killing penalties at the camp.

RNH doesn't fit the mold of what Cameron said he wants in his centerman and from the sounds of it Sheahan has been outplaying Cizikas and Pirri. I like his chances.

Oh and also, there is a 13th forward spot as well that could go to an offensive specialist like RNH or defensive specialist like Sheahan, and Cameron said some centerman may go to wing because they are so strong at center

I stand corrected...you are 100% correct. he played on the same team as matthias in 2008

thanks for pointing that out

Its hard to find stats but apparently word on the street is that Sheahan scored tonight in the final try out game. Final cuts to be made wednesday morning.

His camp really helped his status in my books. He had 3 points in 3 games while playing with Hamilton and Foligno. If this line makes team Canada they will be the 4th line bruiser types.

Everyone that is doubting Sheahans offense... He came and played against the best Canadians and had 3 points in 3 games in a grinding/PK role. maybe the NCAA has more of an effect on his play then some think.

Bon Mackenzie was very impressed

Hamilton-Sheahan-Couturier

tonight according to mckenzie

Sheahan has been playing with Foligno and Hamilton until tonight and they have been producing. Courturier on the wing could also mean they are thinking of moving him there for the tourney which helps Sheahans chances.

He's been playing well and has chemistry with a few guys who should make the team. His chances got a lot better after tonight with Courturier moving over

If he continues to impress, then he should nail down the 4th line a 1st PK spot. And then all of the doubters and haters will finally STFU.

Yeah I'm thinking the Canada 4th line will be Hamilton Sheahan Foligno and Courturier will actually play the wing on a scoring line but they just wanted to test him out tonight. Thats if he even plays wing.

Also Cizikas is sitting out tonight because he is injured so that could also help Sheahan.

Konnan you seem like a big Sheahan fan and I definitely am so we can hopefully tell them haters to stfu together

Agreed.

With Sheahan being one of the best forward again tonight (1+2), there is no doubt in my mind he makes the team. He's dominating these kids his age and being allowed to play offense. Hopefully his coach at ND is taking note.

I see him as 2nd line center and first PK unit at the WJC.

Oh yeah. Definitely. 1st round pick and so far has no goals and 6 assists over 16 games.

But if anything, this whole 4 points in 3 games kind of performance can at least make people wonder why his production at Notre Dame is the way it is. For one, it's Notre Dame. Defense defense defense.

First PK unit yet but I dont tihnk he'll be higher then 3rd line center.

Schenn will be number one with Johansen at number 2.

Sheahan wont beat these guys out for scoring line roles I dont think but you never know. More likely Sheahan will start on the third or fourth until he shows he can consistently put up offense, then he might see some upgrades in ice time and his role.

I think Hamilton Sheahan Foligno or Hamilton Sheahan Courturier will be the third line (fourth if foligno replaces Court) Hamilton and Riley had great chemistry and are both great PKers so I think they make it
