You may not like tough hockey, but it's winning hockey.

Despite his scouting report, Nyquist really isn't all that superb defensively. He's capable but perhaps hasn't shown it at Maine because they've asked him to score. Plus, like Zetterberg, he skates hard and his speed is good but it's nothing like Hagelin. Nyquist is the better playmaker though for sure and a better scorer overall.

Rangers fans are thinking Hagelin has a good shot on their 4th line next year - think the snippet is BS.

Red Kelly #4 and Larry Aurie #6 belong in the rafters!!!

so Hagelin is in the CCHA, whoop-dee-doo. Anyone forget Mattias Ritola who was in the system for an eternity (he was a fourth round pick 2005)?? Swedish centerman prospect to boot, and he's still only 23... dumped for nothing.

I feel like this is Zuccarello 2.0

also it seems like everytime I see the quote about signing with Detroit....they don't sign with Detroit.

I know everyone hates Leino on here and I do too. However, the style he plays is not the "Detroit style which is why he struggled here and he's excelled in Philly because they've let him play the way that suites him best. I'm more pissed at the team aka Babcock for not recognizing his skill set and letting him play to his strengths. We lost a guy that could have been a gamebreaker for us, like he's been for Philly because of it.

How exactly was he limited here? It's not like we tried to make him a goalie. Babcock wanted him to play hard, be willing to go to the tough areas, and shoot more. Which is exactly what he's done since he's come on in Philly.

I'm not exactly defending Leino here with the following comment. It's actually from a place that just dislikes Jason Williams. On the line of Leino-Filppula-Williams, which was what they started the year with, I'm almost positive Babs demanded that Leino play the role of Cleary/Homer on that line. I'm sure Leino thought, "How does this guy get to be one of the two skill guys on this line over me?"

Not saying Leino was justified for not playing hard enough, but if I were Leino I probably wouldn't like seeing a ****** like Williams have a job that I think I should have.
