1/8 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Canucks 1 (SO)

Went to the Nucks board and was pleasantly surprised. They seem to recognize that the hit to Stuie was bad and had a bad call attached to it.

We may have our fair share of 'tards, but most of us know a dirty hit when we see one. Also, the Canucks fanbase in general has always respected the Wings a great deal, and see them as the gold standard with which to measure our own team by.

Vancouver played last night also and they only have two goal scorers.

Seriously? Only two goal scorers on a team that leads the NHL in goals scored?

Hopefully the Wings can win this one. Vancouver is an awesome team and if we're both playing to our potential, it'll look like a playoff game. But we won't win this game like we did last night. Vancouver is not going to blow a lead like Calgary did.

Howard back in tonight because Osgood's groin is bothering him. SOMEONE STRETCH THESE PLAYERS OUT BEFORE THE GAMES.

MLive

I'm starting the tradition early.

Howard sucks! He's the epitome of a terrible goalie. He's going to let in 12 goals tonight. Death to Howard!

Osgood might need groin surgery

"May have misheard about extent of Osgood's injury. Checking into it now".

I don't see why they can't just shift Draper to center for a little bit.

I mean

Franzen-Zetterberg-Holmstrom

Bertuzzi-Helm-Hudler

Tatar-Abdelkader-Eaves

Miller-Draper-Mursak

Looks a whole lot better than using Franzen at center.

We better not win this game. We can't afford to lose any one else.

I don't understand?

Hi guys, long time no-see. Should be a great game tonight, much like the 2 previous this year. Even with their injury issues, I don't see the Nucks underestimating an always-dangerous Red Wings team. They always seem to get up for games vs. Detroit (even when in a losing effort), and I'm hoping tonight is no exception. :)

You should tell the Canucks that they're not a great team until they underestimate their opponents. Especially tonight. Yeah.

im normally a pretty positive wings fan... but tonight may be a problem. im hoping for a win, i'd love to get at least 1 point, but i'll settle for a loss. Cant win them all and the nucks are a good team. I think vancouver will take this one 5-2 :(

Would be thrilled with at least a point out of this game.

Anyone think the injury situation is maybe worse than last year? They're just coming one on top of the other this season.

No its not worse than last year, lets hope it never gets that bad.

This was our lineup at one point in December last year:

Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Holmstrom

Leino-Abdelkader-Eaves

Draper-Helm-Miller

May-Newbury-Maltby

Lidstrom-Meech

Janik-Rafalski

Lebda-Stuart

I doubt we win and I wouldn't be surprised if we get manhandled, but I'm not going to press any panic buttons if/when we lose this one. We are hurt and they are playing like the best team in the NHL, plus our goaltending has been lackluster to boot.

Canucks 4, wings 1.

Hope I'm wrong :)

Well according to the Canucks site, they should just award this game to the Canucks,no point for Detroit even showing up <_<

Well, they are Canucklehead fans.

We all know that if the Wings are there to play, this game is going to be a hard-fought battle on both sides. If the Wings don't show up, though, we may as well write the L in pen on our sheets.

I'm going to be nerve-wracked until I see the boys play.

Gah. Thanks. I guess I've blocked the severity of last years injuries from my memory.
