Magic number down to 7 after win number 9 in a row! I would love to catch the Yankees and I think there is an outside chance considering the Tigers remaining schedule is very weak and the Tigers are on such a roll. I would be thrilled though just to stay ahead of the AL West contenders and get to open at home in the ALDS at least. I'm pretty biased, but after seeing Comerica in 2006 for the playoffs, I don't know there is a better atmosphere in baseball.

The division could very well be won by the end of this road trip. Exciting times to come.

First 9 game win streak since may of '84. This team is on fire right now and at the perfect time. The playoffs can't start soon enough. With Verlander pitching twice in a 5 game series, the Tigers have a chance to beat anyone.

It's pretty amazing they've been on this streak considering they have Penny in the rotation.

The Tigs are my pick to win the AL and play Philly in the World Series.

A guy who lives down the hall on my floor is a Tigers fan, every time we see each other we're talking Tigers and updating each other on the score. Sunday, the day after Inge's walk off HR, we saw each other in the parking lot and all I said was, "Hey, Brandon Inge".

The Tigs will be popping the champagne this week to celebrate the 2011 AL Central Division title, first one since 1987. The magic number is down to 5.

Ryan Raburn for starting RF in the playoffs.

I'm serious.

Magic number is actually 6. Cleveland is tied with the sox, but they have 2 more games to play. We only shaved one game off the magic number.

Oh ok I see my mistake. 5 for the White Sox in 2nd, but 6 for Cleveland in 3rd, due to the White Sox playing one more game.

Tigers magic number is down to 3 with their longest win streak since 1968.

Unleash all the superlatives, this team is going nuts right now and I love it.

I thought today was going to be the day that the Tigers finally give up a loss with Penny pitching. I was right up until the top of the 9th and 10th.

This is insane. I thought for sure that we were gunna end the streak, but today and the last 2 penny starts before this, we won in spite of penny, not because of him. I guess it is a good thing to do to learn to fight out wins, but I don't think Jim will let penny touch the ball come october. Magic number down to 3 pending the indians game tonight, it could be 2 when we wake up in the morning.

Unreal win today. Penny was his usual self, but the guys battled back and kept the streak going. Nice game for Carlos and Avila just never stops. Gotta give some credit to Leyland too for using his bench in the 9th and 10th almost to perfection. The original starting line-up today was lackluster, but he pulled all the right strings late getting his better bats off the bench into the game. Huge at-bats by Raburn and Ordonez too that got overshadowed by Avila and Guillen's hits.

It appears the magic number will be two after tonight as the Rangers are destroying the Indians. The Tigers can clinch the AL Central tomorrow in Oakland with some help!!!

With a Tigers win and Indians loss tonight, the Tigers clinch the Central. If it doesn't happen tonight, I'm sure it'll become official Friday.

I hate the Tigers schedule especially the interleague portion. Why the hell do we need to play the Pirates twice and can we quit with the Rockies every freakin year? Only positives are the Cardinals coming to Comerica and the Tigers play at Wrigley.

Go Rangers (tonight) and hopefully we get good Max. Time to win the AL Central!

Yeah, it seems like the MLB is really trying to harvest that Pirates thing. It will be cool to have the Cardinals in town, and I'd like to make it to Wrigley.
