I think you spend more time talking about other posters than about hockey.

And I think you and many others here are immensely spoiled. It makes me sad that the team's consistent success over the last 15 years has bred in the fans feelings of entitlement rather than ones of gratitude.

No, we are fans.

Sorry we don't live up to your standards of fandom.

Because we're not blind homers like you?

So says the guy who will always tend towards predicting doom rather than success at any possible stage.

Wow...What a horrible shootout. You would expect that this would be a part of the game that coaches would coach to. By this I mean how much shootout film do goalies, players and coaches actually watch to learn the opponent? My guess is not as much as they should. On a related point, the wings look like they don't bother to practice shootouts at all. Given the amount of points on the line - why not?

I think you're lacking in reading comprehension.

Great job Joey! Hopefully he is ok to play tomorrow. Looked kind of ugly there at one point grabbing the back of his leg. thumbup.gif to his performance. A little Saturday night quick turnaround so lets see what they got. Great effort tonight all things considered.

What exactly do you base this bold comment on?

I think you hold the record for the highest rep for one post in the matter of one minute

I really did enjoy this forum a lot more before the '08 Cup win. Since then, people have kicked the entitlement complexes into an even higher gear. It makes me feel sorry for the team.

Many no longer have much ability to appreciate the team's success, and instead protest when perfection is not the order of the day.

I do it just to increase your post count.

Thanks.

I'm off to do stuff.

I think Mac is excited to play, and he's getting over his Jitters. I expect a big game from him tomorrow in Detroit, lets see if the crowd behind him can get him going. Hopefully he'll make some amazing saves and earn himself a chant :)

Flip and Bert with pretty good games. It's amazing how win or lose, a third of our team is always playing great, a third is playing s***ty, and a third is injured :-p

Least we got the point. Once you go down 2-0, a point is what you start shooting for.

4 Misses in the shootout. I think shootouts are getting to the point where the players enjoy showcasing skills and trying to make highlight reels. Shootouts can be incredibly random, so I think the players just try to have fun with it. Well, at least for teams like Detroit where a SO loss isn't potentially the point to end your season :)

Shame we couldn't win it in regulation, but I'm okay with the point after that start and looking at our injury situation.

Hopefully Homer and Howie aren't too badly injured, although I gotta say right now I'm not very confident with Howard in net anymore. Maybe some time off to get refocused is what he needs, providing Joey Mac can keep playing like he's done in his two appearances this season.

One more thing: what a fighter Zetterberg is. He is clearly not 100%, far from it, but he's just battling it out and was close to winning the game both in OT and SO.

Missed the first period, but the Wings played really well. I especially liked how they managed to shut down breakaway attempts without falling apart. Defense played amazing this game, and Franzen hit so many posts and near-misses that he's bound to score soon. Good to see Hudler continuing to put them in the net.

All in all, despite the loss, I'm happy. MacDonald is proving to be a very, very reliable goalie so far and the guys are finally tightening up their game. All it took was having to rely on a backup-backup goalie to get them to play defense.

Everyone looked good tonight, except Howard I'm assuming. Didn't see the goals but two quick goals against with Howard in net didn't entirely surprise me. At any rate, I can feel good about this because A) the Wings get a point, B) they played well, C) Without Howard starting we could have won, and D) If Datsyuk was back he would have buried the shootout goal.

At any rate it's kind of hard to blame someone for a shootout loss. Wings didn't score in the shootout but I felt they were the better team in the actual game. Count on a win tomorrow night.
