it's out for 5 weeks with a broken ankle :hehe:

I didn't think I'd be coming into this thread and lol'ing :D

2009-2010 all over again

More like 2008 when we had literally half the team out and didn't win a game in February. It seems like most of our injured guys are going to be coming back at around the same time.
"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

how about bringing up Smith and putting Big Rig into hommers role, after all he is the biggest body we got to do the screeing and he did start off as a forward. just a though, although id like Tatar get some time on Z and Mule line.
"What are you guys doing?" Reggie Dunlop
"Putting on the foil coach" Jeff Hanson
"Yeah, every game, you want some coach?" Steve Hanson
"Er, no. No thanks guys." Reggie Dunlop
"Make sure they don't leave the bench!" Reggie Dunlop.

Oh my god! It's very similar to last season... Red Wings will go to the playoff, for sure, but I hope that the team will be healthy... because it will be a long road...

Good luck boys!

1) Heal the team and go into playoffs healthy and rested
2) Wreak destruction on rest of NHL with healthy playoff roster
3) Parade

And it all started with thatf****** Samuelsson reaching out and INTENTIONALLY tripping Datsyuk. I hope that f***in piece of s*** goes into the worst slump in history and NEVER scores another NHL goal. f***in wad.

I dont think this call up should be Tatar

We know the wings aren't going to keep him up full time next year, so now they need to check out some other guys. Emmerton is out of options next year, Owens has been playing great hockey in Grand Rapids, Iflip is putting up points (but does not impress me on the defensive side of the puck, perimeter guy really) and Tardif like Owens would be good to throw on the 4th line, provide energy and maybe even kill a penalty if he has too.

Tatar played well when he was up though so I guess calling him up wouldn't be horrible

I honestly would like to see Tatar get called up again. He obviously has talent so we need to get him up to speed. I know last time wasn't great, but he needs to develop a feel for the line, team, and league. The more opportunities he gets on the Wings, the better he will become. I know we all hate to admit it, but we do have some old guys. Tatar will need to be a regular at some point in time.

Good grief. Calm down before you have a stroke.

What, exactly, would you have Holland do? With so many injuries there's no way to tell what the team really needs. The team may be struggling now but there's such a good chance that those guys coming back will be exactly what the team needs. I get tired of hearing this attack. They'll all be back before the playoffs start, so the team won't be missing anyone (knock on wood). What move would you make to clinch the Cup for the Wings if you were GM and facing the injuries that throw any evaluation of the team out of the window?

Hudler and a pick for Carey Price.

OMG . . . :rotflmao:

But seriously, I think the blame goes to Umberger for starting all this s***. If he hadn't been trying out his triple axle jump, Mike wouldn't have started the injury parade.

this team is too old.

Let's see

Madano cut by a skate
Dats breaks his hand falling over another guy
Cleary hit by a puck
Ozzie tears a groin muscle
Draper tears a groin muscle
Hommer get hit by a puck
Stuart elbowed in the jaw

Other than Ozzie and Drapes, age has nothing to do with it and other than Stuart's injury, an enforcer would not help. Just plain old bad luck....

This. It solves our goaltending issues, and we dump Hudler. :D

hahahah. Sure Montreal is going to agree to that.
Do or do not. There is no try

ESPN's Pierre LeBrun is reporting that no surgery will be needed for Holmstrom and he will be out 3-4 weeks.
