It turns out that they took the animated .gif and apparently a lot of the video to frames stuff out of Adobe CS4 so that people would use Fireworks. Luckily I have PS Elements too and that has it.

Yeah, it seems like Adobe is really trying to push Fireworks. They even made it the proprietary program for .pngs (which also support transparency like .gifs).
